ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020/2021 Staff recommendation: Commissioners nominate and elect the Chair and Vice Chair for the period of July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021. 2. SB793 FLAVORED TOBACCO PRODUCTS — LEGISLATIVE UPDATE Stacey Kurz,City of Chula Vista Senior Project Coordinator,will provide a brief summary of local efforts related to flavored tobacco and Chelsea Walczak Vircks, MPH, Senior Director, Community Impact for the American Heart Association (AHA), will provide an update regarding recent state legislation. {f Staff recommendation: Commission hear the presentation. i 3, PRESENTATION BY THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION ON LOCAL AND STATE LEGISLATIVE AGENDAS Chelsea Walczak Vircks will provide an overview of AHA policy priorities. Staff recommendation: Commission hear the presentation and provide direction to staff as appropriate. 4. COMMISSION ROLE AS A POLICY ADVISORY Simon Silva, City of Chula Vista Deputy City Attorney, will provide a brief overview of the Commission's role in providing policy priorities to the City Manager and Council. Staff recommendation: Commission hear the presentation. 5. COMMISSION GOALS & OBJECTIVES Page 2 1 Healthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission Agenda September 10, 2020 Stacey Kurz, City of Chula Vista Senior Project Coordinator, will provide an overview of Healthy Chula Vista Action Plan implementation progress and solicit input from the Commission on goals for the coming year. Staff recommendation: Commission hear the presentation and provide feedback to staff. 6. FY2020/2021 COMMISSION MEETING SCHEDULE The Commission will discuss holding a joint meeting in November with the Commission on Aging and their meeting schedule for the remainder of FY2020/2021.
