It concerns me that the city is considering increasing the number of marijuana outlets in our city. I am very aware of the harms that marijuana commercialization and normalization are creating for these young adults and their friends. We are living in unprecedented times. We're given the opportunity to take a step back and be with and talk to our young adults. They express concern for their peers, the stress and anxiety they are experiencing. This is a time to take a stand and push back on addictive substances that are more likely to produce anxiety, agitation, paranoia, and psychosis. The citizens of Chula Vista did not ask for marijuana to be accessible in their city. Isn't it time to listen to your constituents? I would urge you to gather more information from police and school districts to help ensure your making the best decision for our community and our youth. They need you more than ever to help educate and protect them. Thank you. 1
