HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2003-291RESOLUTION NO. 2003-291 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND MARION B. BORG ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES RELATED TO MITIGATION MONITORING AND REPORTING, PREPARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTS AND THE COORDINATION AND OVERSIGHT OF THE PREPARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID SECOND AMENDMENT WHEREAS, in October 2001 City and consultant entered into an agreement for services related to the California Environmental Quality Act and thereafter, in April 2002, the City entered into a first amendment to agreement with Marion B. Borg Environmental Consulting to continue environmental consulting services specified in the original agreement; and WHEREAS, the projects that Marion B. Borg Environmental Consulting would be assigned to are time sensitive and environmental processing delays would be detrimental to the City of Chula Vista; and WHEREAS, based upon Marion B. Borg Environmental Consult'mg's intimate knowledge of these projects, and satisfactory performance on numerous complex and time-sensitive projects to date, the City will receive continuity of environmental services which are in the City's best interests; and WHEREAS, approval of the second amendment would enable the City to meet the environmental processing demands of important projects on schedule. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve the second amendment to an agreement between the City of Chula Vista and Marion B. Borg Environmental Consulting services related to mitigation monitoring ant reporting, preparation of environmental documents and the coordination and oversight of the preparation of environmental documents, a copy of which shall be kept on file in the City Clerk's office. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista is hereby authorized to execute said second amendment on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
