CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
JUNE 11, 2003 4:00 P.M.
An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista was called to
order at 4:06 p.m. at the Corporation Yard conference room, 1800 Maxwell Road, Chula Vista,
California.
PRESENT: Councilmembers Davis, McCann, Rindone, Salas, and Mayor Padilla
(Councilmember McCann arrived at 4:13 p.m., and Councilmember Rindone
arrived at 4:50 p.m.)
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Rowlands, City Attorney Moore, and City Clerk Bigelow
The purpose of the workshop was to review portions of the proposed Fiscal Years 2004 and 2005
budgets relating to the Council's strategic themes of providing diverse cultural, recreational and
educational opportunities; economic development; and fiscal stability and cost-effective
government. Staff from various departments made presentations on the following topics:

Deputy Mayor Rindone commented on a recent meeting with San Diego State University
officials regarding their vision of higher education in the South Bay and noted that he would
forward details to staffand the Council.

At 5:56 p.m., Deputy Mayor Rindone adjourned the meeting to the Adjourned Regular Meeting
of June 12, 2003, at 4:00 p.m. at the Corporation Yard, and thence to the Regular Meeting of
June 17, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
