HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-10-10 Special HRC MinutesMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA October 10, 2019 5:00 p.m. The special meeting of the Human Relations Commission of the City of Chula was called to order at 5:19 p.m. in the HR Training Room B111/B112, located in Building C, at 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Branch, Felix, Gutierrez, Lake, Ratner and Chair Martinez- Montes ABSENT: Commissioner Godinez, Kean-Ayub, Medina, Zadah and Vice Chair Gonzalez OHERS PRESENT: Courtney Chase- Director of Human Resources/Risk Management CONSENT CALENDAR 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR September 26, 2019 REGULAR MEETING Staff recommendation: Commission approves minutes. Action: Commissioner Lake moved to approve minutes offered Calendar Item 1, headings read, text waived. Commissioner Felix seconded the motion, and it carried by the following vote: YES: 6– Branch, Felix, Gutierrez, Lake, Ratner, and Chair Martinez-Montes NO: 0 ABSTAIN: 0 PUBLIC COMMENTS • There were None ACTION ITEMS 2. REVIEW AND RECOMMEND CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL AND ADOPTION OF WELCOMING CITY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN Staff will provide an overview of the Welcoming City Implementation Plan (revised with Commission input) and discuss the item with the Commission. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Recommend City Council Approval and Adoption of Welcoming City Implementation Plan Action: Chair Martinez-Montes moved to approve Welcoming City Implementation Plan Commissioner Branch seconded the motion, and it carried by the following vote: YES: 6 – Branch, Felix, Gutierrez, Lake, Ratner and Chair Martinez-Montes NO: 0 ABSTAIN: 0 OTHER BUSINESS 3. CHAIR COMMENTS There were none 4. COMMISSIONERS’ COMMENTS There were none 5. STAFF COMMENTS There were none. ADJOURNMENT Chair Martinez-Montes adjourned the special meeting to the regular meeting on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., in the Executive Conference Room, Bldg.
