RESOLUTION NO. 2019-214
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA DESIGNATING AND SETTING ASIDE
CERTAIN CITY-OWNED REAL PROPERTY CURRENTLY
KNOWN AS ALPINE AVENUE FOR FIRE STATION
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the construction of new Fire Station No. 9 necessitates the closure of a
portion of Alpine Avenue between Moss Street and Naples Street; and
WHEREAS, certain public right-of-way situated in the City of Chula Vista, County of
San Diego, State of California, currently known as Alpine Avenue, was dedicated to the City of
Chula Vista for public use by Map No. 3488 recorded August 9, 1956; and
WHEREAS, on or about April 17, 2019, the City acquired fee title to the east half width
of Alpine Avenue between Moss Street and Naples Street pursuant to a final order of
condemnation, recorded in the Official Records of the San Diego County Recorder, Document
No. 2019-0139197, for the real property located at 1095 Alpine Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the fee title owners of the west half width of Alpine Avenue between Moss
Street and Naples Street, located at 1094 and 1098 Alpine Avenue respectively, have agreed to
transfer their interest therein to the City; and
WHEREAS, the above-described portions of Alpine Avenue are no longer needed for
public street purposes; and
WHEREAS, the public need and convenience require that certain fire station and
appurtenant works be constructed and placed through, in, on, across, over, under, and above said
portions of Alpine Avenue for the construction of Fire Station 9; and
WHEREAS, this City Council desires to designate and set aside said real property
described in Exhibit"A" for fire station purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista
as follows:
SECTION 1. That it designates and sets aside the real property commonly known as
Alpine Avenue between Moss Street and Naples Street, as more particularly described in Exhibit
"A", for fire station or other public purposes.
SECTION 2. That said designation is to continue in full force and effect so long as said
property is used for the above stated purposes or until such time that said property has been
lawfully vacated, abandoned, or disposed of by the duly constituted public authorities, at which
time said property may revert to the person or entity holding an underlying interest thereto.

SECTION 3. That the remainder of Alpine Avenue shall continue to be designated as
and set aside for public use.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall cause a certified copy of this resolution to be
recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of San Diego evidencing this
action.
SECTION 5. That said designation and set aside shall be effective upon the filing of
said certified copy in the Official Records of San Diego County.
