HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2019-206RESOLUTION NO. 2019-206 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF NINE UTILITY TRUCKS FROM COURTESY CHEVROLET WHEREAS, the Fire Department’s approved Measure P Expenditure Plan includes the replacement of three existing utility trucks; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department’s Emergency Services Division requires replacement of an existing utility truck; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department participates in California’s Master Mutual Aid System; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department requires the purchase of five utility trucks to support mutual aid responses; and WHEREAS, Chula Vista Municipal Code Section 2.56.080 authorizes the City to purchase equipment exceeding $100,000 pursuant to a competitive bid and award process; and WHEREAS, on March 14, 2019, the Finance Department solicited competitive bids for the purchase of nine utility trucks; and WHEREAS, on April 8, 2019, the Finance Department received four responsive bids; and WHEREAS, after compilation and review of the responsive bids, the Finance Department determined that Courtesy Chevrolet was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder submitting the best bid in all respects; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council approve the purchase of nine utility trucks from Courtesy Chevrolet in an amount not-to-exceed $397,021; and WHEREAS, a portion of the total funds required for execution of the agreement are allocated in the Fire Department’s Measure P Expenditure Plan for Fiscal Year 2019/20; the Advanced Life Support Fund for Fiscal Year 2019/20; and the Fire Department’s Vehicle Replacement Fund for Fiscal Year 2019/20. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that it approves the purchase of nine utility trucks from Courtesy Chevrolet in an amount not-to- exceed $397,021.
