APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approval of Minutes from August 21, 2019 Recommendation: Commission approve minutes PUBLIC COMMENTS: Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three minutes. ACTION ITEMS 2. CHAIR SEARS ABSENCE FROM JULY MEETING AND COMMISSIONER MUELLER ABSENCE FROM AUGUST MEETING: Recommendation: Commission approve absence 3. VETERANS ACTIVITY REPORT: Chair Sears will provide information on upcoming events for veterans and their families. 4. DISCUSSION ON SETTING GOALS FOR THE VAC FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR: a. Increase awareness with our veteran population and increase the accessibility. b. Inviting different veteran organizations to do presentations. c. Ideas for the VAC to do annually d. The possibility of moving the meeting permanently or quarterly to involve more community members. 5. CITY WEBSITE UPDATE Commissioner Larkin to provide a resource link for veterans to possibly add to the city website. STAFF PRESENTATIONS The items listed in this section of the agenda will consist of presentations by City staff members. No action is expected to be taken by the Committee on these items. If any member of the public wishes to speak on any item,please fill out a "Request to Speak"form and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. 6.
