A Special Meeting of the Healthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission of the City of Chula Vista was called to order at 4:35 p.m. in the Nellie Barrington Conference Room at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, located at 751 Medical Center Court, Building C, Chula Vista, CA 91911 PRIOR TO THE MEETING BEING CALLED A TOUR OF SHARP CHULA VISTA MEDICAL CENTER'S OCEAN VIEW TOUR WAS PROVIDED ROLL CALL PRESENT: Commissioners, Cruz, de Murguia, Jimenez, Martinez, Melgoza (left meeting at 5:21), Partida-Lopez (left meeting at 5:04), Vice Chair Milburn and Chair Quiroz ABSENT: Commissioner Velo r ALSO PRESENT; Stacey Kurz, Senior Project Coordinator Manuel Medrano,Environmental Services Manager Tina Mathias, Sustainability Commissioner Adriana Giavada, Sustainability Commissioner CONSENT CALENDAR 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM February 7, 2019 i Motion by Commissioner Milburn to approve the minutes Seconded by Commissioner Cruz Motion passed. 7-0 (Commissioner Melgoza not present) PUBLIC COMMENTS Norse. ACTION ITEMS 2. SHARP CHULA VISTA TOUR&DISCUSSION Provided prior to meeting. 3. HEALTHY & SUSTAINABLE MEETING POLICY Staff Kurz and Medrano provided an overview of the items to be included in a healthy meeting policy related to healthy food options, sustainability and physical activity. The draft policy will be brought to the Commission at an upcoming meeting for an advisory recommendation to Council. 4. HYDRATION STATIONS AT SWEETWATER HIGH SCHOOLS Commissioner Mathias provided an overview of the need for water access for youth while at school and requested that if interested, the Commission designate two members to firm a subcommittee with the Sustainability Commission. Motion by de Murguia to nominate Commissioners Martinez and Melgoza for the Subcommittee to work on the Hydration Station Project Seconded by Martinez Motion passed 6-0 (Commissioners Melgoza and Partida-Lopez not present) OTHER BUSINESS 5. STAFF COMMENTS Staff Kurz provided information on the following upcoming events: • Sweetwater High School Parent Symposium on April 27, 2019 ■ Mental Health first Aid Training on May 4"'and 11'1'. Staff Kurz informed the group that Sweetwater High School and the City are in discussions to co-host an event with the South Bay Youth Coalition around mental health and suicide prevention in youth. 4 More information to follow in the next month. 1 6. CHAIR'S COMMENTS Chair Quiroz thanked Commissioner Cruz for arranging the tour and hosting the meeting at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. 7. COMMISSIONERS'IBOARD MEMBERS' COMMENTS Commissioner Cruz provided information on the Changing Minds: Minds Matter event on May 11, 2019, ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn at 5:30, to a special meeting on May 9, 2019 at 3:30 p.m., location to be determined.
