ROLL CALL: Commissioners Guevara-Gluyas, Legaspi, Matthias, Richeson, Ruvalcaba and Chair

APPROVAL OF MINUTES of the meeting on May 13, 2019
Staff recommendation: Commission approve the minutes.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject
matter within the Board/Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State
law generally prohibits the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not
included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future
discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three minutes.

1. Commission to discuss establishing the following adhoc subcommittees
a. Community Choice Aggregation
b. Single Plastic/Styrofoam Ban
c. Zero Waste Plan

e. Energy efficiency ordinances
2. Otay Landfill tour guided by Neil Mohr, Landfill Operations Manager, Republic Services
This item will follow the Chair's Comments and will take place at 1700 Maxwell Road,
Chula Vista, CA 91911. Members of the public are welcome to join. If you would like to
join please contact the Sustainability Commission Secretary, Connie Green.
ACTION ITEMS
1. Vote on new member for Climate Change Working Group (CCWG)
Recommended Action: Commission discuss and appointment one member to the CCWG
2. Schedule a date for the Sustainability Commission workshop
Recommended Action: Commission to select date and time for the workshop
