Dated r, / h n Signed E�V���:L Ay, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA Public Works Department Meeting Room A 1800 Maxwell, Chula Vista ROLL CALL: Commissioners Guevara-Gluyas, Legaspi, Matthias, Richeson, Ruvalcaba and Chair Romo APPROVAL OF MINUTES of the meeting on May 13, 2019 Staff recommendation: Commission approve the minutes. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three minutes. INFORMATION ITEMS 1. Commission to discuss establishing the following adhoc subcommittees a. Community Choice Aggregation b. Single Plastic/Styrofoam Ban c. Zero Waste Plan d. Smart Cities e. Energy efficiency ordinances 2. Otay Landfill tour guided by Neil Mohr, Landfill Operations Manager, Republic Services This item will follow the Chair's Comments and will take place at 1700 Maxwell Road, Chula Vista, CA 91911. Members of the public are welcome to join. If you would like to join please contact the Sustainability Commission Secretary, Connie Green. ACTION ITEMS 1. Vote on new member for Climate Change Working Group (CCWG) Recommended Action: Commission discuss and appointment one member to the CCWG 2. Schedule a date for the Sustainability Commission workshop Recommended Action: Commission to select date and time for the workshop OTHER BUSINESS 1. STAFF'S COMMENTS Items under Staff Comments are informational items being relayed from the department director or staff liaisons. These items are not expected to be discussed or commented on by the board or commission. If staff anticipates the board or commission will have additional questions or want to discuss and/or possibly take action, the item should instead be listed under Action Items. - CCA feasibility study timeline update - Review calendar 2. COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS This is the same as the Chair's Comments section but is open to each board or commission member. 3. CHAIR'S COMMENTS Comments made by the Chairperson are brief statements that are not open to debate or discussion by the board or commission. Brief announcements are appropriate in this section. - Report out on discussions with City Council members ADJOURNMENT to the regular meeting on July 8, 2019.
