HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2003-119RESOLUTION NO. 2003-119 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2003 HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE FUND BUDGET AND TRANSFERRING $30,500 FROM THE SUPPLIES AND SERVICES CATEGORY TO THE CAPITAL OUTLAY CATEGORY FOR ~ PURPOSE OF PURCHASING A SCALE AND FORKLIFT WHEREAS, on August 28, 2001, the City of Chula Vista adopted Resolution 2001-285, for the purpose of accepting a multi-year $300,000 grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board to fund household hazardous waste and electronic waste education, collection and disposal programs; and WHEREAS, a portion of the grant funds were intended to offset costs of operating the regional Household Hazardous Waste (HI-IW) drop off facility located at the City Public Works Yard on Maxwell Road; and WHEREAS, in February of 2003 the state approved a change in the grant that allows the City to use the grant's remaining funds to purchase an electric forklift and scale that will assist with additional household hazardous waste collection efforts by controlling future costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chnia Vista does hereby amend the budget by transferring $30,500 from HHW Supplies and Services to the Capital Outlay Category for the purpose of purchasing a scale and forklift.
