HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2018-255RESOLUTION NO. 2018-255 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING A REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH SAN DIEGO METROPOLITAN TRANSIT SYSTEM TO EQUALLY SHARE COSTS FOR ECONOMIC, MARKET, AND FINANCIAL CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE SOLICITATION AND EVALUATION OF DEVELOPER QUALIFICATIONS AND PROPOSALS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF 707 F STREET AND 750 E STREET WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista (City) is the legal owner of approximately six acres of real property located at 707 F Street and the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is the legal owner of approximately four acres of real property located at 750 E Street in Chula Vista; and WHEREAS, the City and MTS desire to jointly solicit developer qualifications and proposals for the development of City-owned 707 F Street and MTS-owned 750 E Street; and WHEREAS, to solicit and evaluate developer qualifications and proposals for development of 707 F Street and 750 E Street, both the City and MTS require the expertise of economic, market, and financial consulting services to assist in developing the Request for Qualifications/Proposals, evaluating developer qualifications and proposals, negotiating with a developer or developers, and structuring potential transactions; and WHEREAS, the City and MTS desire to have the City administer and manage the contract for professional economic, financial, and market consulting services to solicit and evaluate developer qualifications and proposals for the development of 707 F Street and 750 E Street; and WHEREAS, City and MTS have agreed to equally share the costs under the contract for professional economic, financial, and market consulting services to solicit and evaluate developer qualifications and proposals for the development of 707 F Street and 750 E Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that it approves the Reimbursement Agreement for Payment of Costs for Professional Economic, Financial, and Market Consulting Services by and between the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System and the City of Chula Vista to equally share costs to solicit and evaluate proposals for the development of 707 F Street and 750 E Street, in the form presented, with such minor modifications as may be required or approved by the City Attorney, a copy of which shall be kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and authorizes and directs the City Manager or his designee to execute same.
