RESOLUTION NO. 10531 -EXTENDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS TO SALARIES AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS OF THAT CERTAIN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE CHULA VISTA POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION FOR FY 1980-81 TO AND UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A NEW MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING IS ENTERED INTO BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND THE CHULA VISTA POLICk OFFICERS ASSOCIATION FOR FY 1981-82 In compliance with the City Council's request of June 23, a resolution has been pre- pared extending the current salary and benefits to the Chula Vista Police Officers Association for Fiscal Year 1981-82. RESOLUTION OFFERED BY COUNCILMAN GILLOW, the reading of the text was waived by unanimous consent, passed and adopted unanimously by those present. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT Mayor Hyde commented that he had received notification from the Department of Housing & Urban Development that Chula Vista's Community Development Block Grant application for $1,099,000 was approved. PRISONER OF WAR DAY The Mayor stated that he had received a letter noting that President Reagan has declared July 17 as Prisoner of War Day and that a special flag be flown on this date and that it continue to be flown until all POW's are released. Mayor Hyde indicated that it may not be appropriate to request the Council to authorize that a flag be flown permanently but he would recommend the July 17th date and one week following. MSUC (Hyde/McCandliss) that a flag be flown on July 17 and for one week following in honor of the Prisoners of War.
