Dated ld 14 I l roSiened October 8, 2018 Executive Conference Room 103, Building A 5:00 pm 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL: Commissioners Legaspi, Matthias, McMillin, Richeson, Ruvalcaba and Chair Romo MOTION TO EXCUSE — none APPROVAL OF MINUTES of the meeting on September 10, 2018 Staff recommendation: Commission approve the minutes. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three minutes. INFORMATION ITEM Presentation of Community Choice Aggregation Feasibility Study by Cory Downs, Conservation Specialist II 2. Updates regarding implementation of the City Operations Sustainability Plan by Coleen Wisniewski, Environmental Sustainability Manager ACTION ITEMS The Item(s) listed in this section of the agenda will be considered individually by the Board/Commission and are expected to elicit discussion and deliberation. If you wish to speak on any item, please fill out a "Request to Speak "form and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. 3. Consideration of rescheduling the November 2018 meeting. The regular November meeting would fall on November 12, 2018, which is a City holiday (Veteran's Day); no meetings may be held on holidays pursuant to Chula Vista Municipal Code section 2.25.200. Recommended Action: Commission discuss and take action as appropriate. 4. Nomination of a Sustainability Commissioner for Council consideration and ratification to fill a vacant seat on the Wildlife Advisory Group. Recommended Action: Commission make the nomination as appropriate. Election of Climate Change Working Group (CCWG) Chair, Vice Chair and residential representives. Recommended Action: Commission discuss and take action as appropriate 6. Discussion and approval the Sustainability Commission's 2018-2019 Activity Report. Recommended Action: Commission discuss and approve the contents of the report, as appropriate. 7. Do commissioners agree it is acceptable to share their contact information with co - commissioners on a per request basis only? Recommended Action: Make a motion to approve or reject. OTHER BUSINESS STAFF'S COMMENTS Items under Staff Comments are informational items being relayed from the department director or staff liaisons. These items are not expected to be discussed or commented on by the board or commission. If staff anticipates the board or commission will have additional questions or want to discuss and/or possibly take action, the item should instead be listed under Action Items. 9. COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS This is the same as the Chair's Comments section but is open to each board or commission member. 10. CHAIR'S COMMENTS Comments made by the Chairperson are brief statements that are not open to debate or discussion by the board or commission. Brief announcements are appropriate in this section.
