Vice Chair Sears seconded motion and it carried by the following vote: Yes: Mueller, Torres, and Perez. ACTION ITEMS: a. Chula Vista Veterans Park Brick Program: Gil Contreras and Tony Ramos attended a few months back and were given an update on the status of the program. After some discussion they recommended giving the entire program to the Veterans Home. Veterans home would benefit more from the program than the city. Parks and Recreation will still be an active partner and believe it is still a good service and something that should be done for the community. Gil wanted to discuss it with the commission first before contacting the Veterans Home. The idea from this day forward would be organizing an event around Veterans day showing off the bricks, inviting family members, media and the Mayor. If they can get the Veterans Foundation to really embrace this idea they can run with it and do what they want with it. The Veterans Foundation can partner with Parks and Rec anytime it has to do with the facility. Bill will take the lead and contact Tony Stewart and give him the information from Parks and Rec.
