SPECIAL JOINT MEETING OF THE COMMISSION ON AGING AND HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA Monday, July 9, 2018 City Hall Executive Conference Room 103 3:30 p.m. 276 Fourth Avenue, Building A Chula Vista 91910 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL COMMISSION ON AGING (COA): C ommissioners Allan, Carroll, Erdmann, Escalera, Johnson, Nash and Chair Mallen ROLL CALL HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION (HCVAC): Commissioners de Murguia, Jimenez, Martinez, Melgoza, Milburn, Partida-Lopez, Velo, Vice Chair Quiroz and Chair Cruz CONSENT CALENDAR The Board/Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one motion, without discussion, unless a Board/Commission Member, a member of the public, or staff requests that an item be and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. Items pulled from the Consent Calendar will be discussed immediately following the Consent Calendar. None. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three minutes. ACTION ITEMS The Item(s) listed in this section of the agenda will be considered individually by the Board/Commission and a 1. CREATING AN AGE-FRIENDLY CITY CHULA VISTA ACTION PLAN Healthy CV staff will provide an update on plan development since the April 2018 Joint Age-Friendly Task Force meeting, summarize the public review period and overview of the final Action Plan. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review Attachment 1 and Commissions hear the presentation and provide an advisory recommendation to City Council on the adoption of the Age-Friendly Chula Vista Action Plan. 2. HARBORFEST 2018 VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION Staff will provide an overview of an opportunity to participate in Goals 2.1 and 2.2 of the Chula Vista Age-Friendly Action Plan on August 18, 2018. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Commissions provide feedback on participating at the Harborfest event at an Age-Friendly booth. OTHER BUSINESS 3. STAFF COMMENTS 4. CHAIRS COMMENTS 5. ADJOURNMENT to a regular meeting of the Commission on Aging on September 12, 2018 at 2:30 pm at Norman Park Senior Center and a regular meeting of the Healthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission on August 9, 2018 at 3:30pm at Chula Vista City Hall.
