20. What are your principal areas of interest in our City government, and what experience or special knowledge can you bring
to those areas?
I am a proud resident of Chula Vista and value the innovation and forward thinking that our city has already achieved and aims
to continue. I currently work in the transportation planning and engineering field and want to bring my over 15 years of work
expertise to my city to contribute towards informed, innovative, and sustainable solutions. My specific background and
experience working in the field of transportation is very broad from traffic, active transportation, transit and more.
Additionally, I have served on the board of a prominent local transportation society, called Women's Transportation Seminar.
My experience in a leadership role will be useful to serving on a board where diverse opinions and perspectives are to be
considered and weighed in making recommendations that might transform the infrastructure or safety of our city.
I believe that my background and experience would make me an ideal candidate for our City government allowing me to bring
in a new thinking for the Safety Commission, a diverse and fresh voice, and a clear understanding of the challenges and
opportunities associated with transportation and safety.
21. What would you hope to accomplish in the role of a Safety Commissioner? (250 words or less)
In the role of a Safety Commissioner, I hope to contribute my technical expertise towards making informed decisions for our
2
community. My goal would be to ensure that Chula Vista continues to look towards innovation and sustainable solutions for
transportation and safety and does so with fiscal and social responsibilities in mind. I hope to bring a perspective that is
inclusive and thinks about the overall benefit for our city's resident, visitors and most certainly the future generations to
come.
In a very practical sense, I hope to accomplish with my role as a Safety Commissioner to work closely with the City’s
Engineering Department to review our mobility goals and objectives and hold ourselves accountable to the promises made to
our residents and businesses while also being agile to the changing of times and technology for transportation and safety. An
important part of working with the City staff is understanding their role and the day-to-day tasks they undertake to present
ideas to the Commissions and the City Council. I would hope that as part of my role on the Safety Commission I would have
the opportunity to roll up my sleeves and work with the Engineering Department to challenge them to think outside to find
the best solutions and improvements for our city.
22. You may upload a resume in addition to your application (optional).

and true.
