HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2002-518 RESOLUTION NO. 2002-518 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO ADD A NEW POSITION OF REAL PROPERTY MANAGER, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS BASED ON UNANTICIPATED REVENUE WHEREAS, Chula Vista has grown to a population of nearly 200,000 people and is acquiring massive amounts of property; and WHEREAS, the City needs to acquire more property in the future for infrastructure and other City buildings and parks; and WHEREAS, the City has used the services of consultants in the past for acquisitions of properties, but staff is proposing that the function be created as permanent staff position in the Public Works Department Construction; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to locate this unclassified middle management position in the Engineering Department, the position would also serve other departments such as Community Development and Buildings and Parks Development; and WHEREAS, this position would be an unclassified "at will" middle manager position with the title of Real Property Manager; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of this position would be approximately $100,000 per year for salary and benefits, which costs would be offset by charges to Capital Improvement Program funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve the addition of a new position of Real Property Manager and appropriate funds.
