HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-06-16 PC MINS MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE PLANNING C012ISSION OF -THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held Monday, June 16, 1952 The Planning Commission met in the Council Chamber at City Hall on the above date at 7:30 P.M. with Chairman Poulter presiding. Present: Members Poulter, Drew, Ramage, Stewart. , Absent: Members Wulff, Smith, Longworth. Also Present: City Planner Wagner, City Attorney Boyer, City Engineer Floyd. APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Member Drew, seconded by member Stewart, and carried, that the minutes of the meeting held June 2, 1952 be approved,- copies having been mailed to each Member. Chairman Poulter announced, that any action on Resolutions granting zone variances to Mrs. Marvel Allen and Mrs. Mary Ricchuitti would be deferred until the next regular meeting because of the absence of the other three Members. The matter was continued until the meeting of July 7, 1952. APPROVAL OF TRAILER PARK PLANS - Resolution of Land Use - VanWinkle and Rumbaugh, 216 Aational Ave. It was moved by Member Ramage, seconded by Member Stewart, and carried, that the Trailer Paitk plans be approved, providing they meet with the requirements of the Engineering Department, Health and Building Inspectors, and that the use of the land for trailer park properties be approved.. Member Drew requested that the minutes state that he is opposed to the zone variance which was previously granted for the above-mentioned trailer park. RESOLUTION NO. 21 - Approving Highway Projects. It was moved by Member Ramage, seconded by Member Stewart, and unanimously carried, that Resolution No. 21 be adopted. APPROVAL OF DIRECTIONAL SIGN Mr. Young and Mr.- Skyles, representing the National Avenue Businessmen's Assoc., appeared before the Commission with regard to a directional sign to be placed .on the old City dump property, adjacent to the Montgomery Freeway, which would direct motor- ists and tourists to the Chula Vista business districts. It was moved by Member Drew, seconded-by Member Ramage, and carried, that the Planning Commission recommends the general principle of a directional sign, to be located on the premises of the old City dump property, indicating the business districts of Chula Vista and their tourist accommodations. STREET NAME CHANGES It was moved by ,Member Stewart, seconded by Member Ramage, and carried, that, the recommended street names, as suggested by the City Planner, be approved for recom- mendation to the City Council, and that necessary steps be taken to adopt the changes. At this point, Member Ramage left the meeting. t _2 REPORT ON MASTER STREET PLAN City Planner Wagner.;presented a report on the Master Street Plan. The Commission requested the City Attorney to draw up a Resolution adopting the plan.
