MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED 14EETING
i OF THE PLANNING COTRAISSION OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Held Monday, March 19th, 1951.
The Planning Commission met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the
above date at 7:30 P.M. with the following Members present: Wulff, Drew, Halferty,
Smith, 'Stewart. Absent; Ramage, Poulter
Also Present: City Engineer Floyd, Asst. Engineer ffheeler, Walter Davis, Secretary
Chamber of Commerce.
It was moved by ufember Drew, seconded by Member Smith, and carried, that the
minutes of the meeting held March 5th be approved as mailed, with the following
corrections : Member Drew voted "No" on the Paramount Subdivision No. 1.
At this point, 8:01 P.M., Member Poulter arrived.
Off-Street Parking Problem
After a lengthy-discussion in which the Members, Mr. Davis, and members of the
audience took part, it was moved by Member Poulter, seconded by Member Halferty,
that the plan as recommended by the Committee appointed by the Planning Commission
be approved and sent on to the City Council. Member Poulter included in his motion
Member Drew's amendment as follows: provided that if, in the opinion of the City
Council, off-street parking is necessary.
It was moved by Member Stewart, seconded by ?Member Drew, that the motion be
further amended to require that recommendations be made to include a lot between
F Street and Davidson Streeton the East side of Third Avenue, and a lot on the West
side of Third Avenue between F Street and Center Street, thereby staggering the lots.
The amendment was carried-by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Members Drew, Stewart, Wulff, Halferty.
NOES: Members Poulter, Smith.
ABSENT: Member Ramage.
The original motion, as amended, was carried by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Members Poulter, Drew, Stewart, Halferty, Wulff.
NOES: Member Smith.
ABSENT: Member Ramage.
Proposed Highway to the North
A general discussion was held on the proposed Freeway connection to Highway 395
via State College, and Highway 80 via Lyon's Valley or other route, but no action
was taken by the Members.
Adjournment
It was moved by Member Poulter., seconded by Member Drew, and carried, that the
meeting adjourn, sine die.
