HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-12-17 PC MINS ITINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED TWEETING OF THE PLANNING CO-T41IS SION.OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held Monday, December 17, 1951 The Planning Commission met in the Council Chamber at City Hall on the above date at 7:30 P.I:R., with the following Yembers present: Wulff, Drew, Ramage, Halferty, Stewart, Poulter, Smith. Absent: None. Also Present: City Attorney Boyer, City Planner Wagner. APPROVAL OF IAINUTES It was moved by P,iember Halferty, seconded by Member Stewart, and carried, that the minutes of the meeting held December 35 1951 be approved, copies having been mailed to the Members. BILL130ARD CONTROL CId STATE HIG11aAYS Mr. Luckenbach, Assistant District Engineer for the State Division of High- ways appeared before the Commission with regard to signboards and billboard ad- vertising on Freeways. Mr. Luckenbach requested that the Planning Commission recommend that the City Council enact an ordinance prohibiting the erection of signboards and billboards along State Highways and Freeways. It was moved by Member Halferty, seconded, by IJember Poulter, and carried, that consideration of billboards be tabled until the next regular meeting for recommendations from Mr. Wagner and Mr. Boyer. 1 PASTER STREET PLAN City Planner Wagner requested that he be allowed to continue with the Master Street Plan and that the Commission will meet two or three Sundays to make field trips to check the street alignments on the ground. At this point, - .Iember Poulter' left the meeting. "NO PARKING" ON "E" STRL'rT City Planner 1-Jagner reported on the City Council discussion on the matter of a "No Parking" zone on "Ell Street from Fourth Ave. to National Ave. It was moved by Member Halferty, seconded by I44ember Stewart, that the Planning Com- mission recommend. to the City Council that parking be prohibited on "E" Street - between National and Fourth Avenues between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., except on Sundays and holidays; and that parking on "E" Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue be limited to 30 minutes between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., except on Sundays and holidays. The motion was carried by the following vote, to-fait: AYES: 14embers Wulff, Smith, Ramage, Stewart, Halferty. NOES: None. ABSENT: A,7ember Poulter. NOT VOTTEG: Plember Drew. \ d -2- RESOLUTION NO. 20 - Intention to Amend Zoning Ordinance No. 398. City Attorney Boyer presented- Planning Commission Resolution No. 20. Mr. Wagner read the resolution and each change was discussed as it was read. As a result of the reading and discussion, it was suggested that the Secretary pre- pare copies for each Commissioner to study, and that the items be placed on the next agenda.
