HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-07-31 PC MINS 14INUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held Monday - July 31, 1950 Pursuant to the call by the Chairman, the Commission held a special meeting on July 313 1950 at 7:30 P.M. Members present: Poulter, Smith, Halferty, Wulff, and Drew. Members absent: Eckhart, Ramage. In the absence of Chairman Eckhart, it was moved by Member Drew, seconded by Member Wulff, and carried, that Member Poulter be appointed Chairman 'Pro Tempore. Zone Variance - St. Rose of Lima Church, Third Avenue and H Street. It was moved by Member Smith, seconded by Member Drew, and carried, that a zone- variance be granted to permit a front and side yard set-back on Third Avenue and H Street, to permit the porch to extend 81 from the building into the. front yard set-back and to allow a distance of 8.951 between the Church and Rectory, all according to the plot plan of the proposed new Catholic Church attached to the application. Study of Highways It w_a_­s_m_o_v__ecT by Member Poulter, seconded by Member Smith, and carried, that a general discussion of a proposed roadway from Chula'Vista to Highway 80 and to the State College area be in order. Mr. Walter Davis, Secretary of the Chamber was delegated to arrange with San Diego County Engineers for aerial photo maps covering the proposed routes for further and more decisive study. Mr. Smith introduced discussion of signal lights at nth and,E Street. Mr. Smith moved, and it was seconded by Member Halferty, and carried, that congestion at this corner proved the need for a signal light and that it be called to the attention of the City Council.
