OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA,CALIFORNIA
Held Monday - September lb, 1950
The Planning Commission met on the above date at 7:30 P.M. in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall with Chairman Eckhart presiding.
Present: Members Eckhart, Halferty, Drew, Wulff, Poulter, Ramage.
Absent: Member Smith.
Also Present: City Attorney, Albert C. Boyer; City Engineer, Richard A. Floyd
and Henry S. Gierlich; and Assistant City Engineer, W. H. Wheeler.
Zone Variance - John B. Wanders, 629 L Street, Chula Vista, California.
It was moved by Member Ramage, seconded by Member Halferty, and carried,
that a variance be granted to construct, operate, and maintain an agricultural
loading and shipping dock and truck terminal on the real property described in,
the application, for the reasons set forth in the application for zone variance•.
Request for statement of expenditures.
It was moved by Member Drew, seconded by Member Ramage, and carried, that
the City Council direct the Finance Officer to provide the Planning Commission
a monthly statement detailing expenditures of Planning Commission funds, such
statement to show type of duty performed, hours expended, rates for personnel
chargeable to the Planning Commission, other expenses, and current balance in
the fund.
Harbor Development.
Mr. Robert Griffin reported to the Planning Commission that the Chamber of
Commerce intended to prepare •a plan for harbor development in the City of Chula
.Vista and requested that the Planning ommission meet with the Chamber Committee
in the future to join the Chamber in planning this development.
Off-Street Parking.
Mr. Robert Griffin recommended that the Planning Commission commence the
development of an off-street parking plan, and presented a map showing four pro-
posed parking areas: Davidson to E Street-on the west side of Church; Center to
F Street on the east side of Landis Avenue; Site of the Chula Vista Lumber Company;
Davidson to within 125, of F Street on Landis Avenue.
Master Street Plan.
It was moved by Member Poulter, seconded by Member Halferty, and carried,
that the Planning Commission adopt a master street plan and an off-street parking
plan as the next project for the Planning Commission, and that Mr. Kenneth Gardner
be. used as a consultant to aid the Commission to that purpose.
Adjournment.
It was moved by Member Wulff, seconded by Member Drew, and carried, that .the
meeting adjourn sine die.
