OF THE PLANNING. COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Held Tuesday, December 19, 1950
The Planning Commission met in the Council Chambers on the above
date with the following members present: Eckhart, Drew, Poulter,. Smith,
Halferty.
Absent: Wulff, Ramage.
Also Present: City Attorney Boyer, Councilman Logan, Walter Davis,
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce.
It was moved by Member Poulter, seconded by Member Smith, and
carried, that the minutes of the meeting held December lith, 1950 be ap-
proved as mailed.
Zone Variances
Safeway Stores. - 100 Block on Third Avenue.-
Mr. Herman A. Bischoff, representing the Safeway Stores, appeared
before the Commission with regard to the proposed store and parking
lot to be erected in an R-3 zone. After discussion, it was recom-
mended by the Commission that upon acceptance by the City of Chula
Vista of the dedication of the adjoining Church Avenue, Safeway Stores
shall pave same and put in sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
It was moved by Member Poulter, seconded by Member Halferty,
and carried, that the hearing be continued to January 2nd, 1951, so
that property owners on Church Avenue may be notified.
Roxanna F. Minnick - 278 Fifth Avenue.
It was moved by Member Smith, seconded by Member Halferty, and
carried, that the h"earing on Mrs. Minnick's request be continued to
January 2ndj. 1951 so that plot plans may be brought in by the ap-
plicant.
The Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company - 120 Third Avenue.
It was moved by Member Drew, seconded by Member Smith, and
carried, that 'the applicant's request for a variance to allow an
addition to their present building be granted. Ayes - all.
R. R. Gardner - Brightwood & Flower Sts.
It was moved by Member Halferty, seconded by Member Smith, and
carried, that Mr. Gardner's request for a zone variance to reduce the
area of his lot be granted, with the provision that existing building
_ on front of property be removed. Ayes - all.
Tree Removal - 273 Fifth Avenue.
It was moved by Member Smith, seconded by Member Drew, and carried,
that action on Idir. Frank Ogara's request for a tree removal be post-
poned until January 2nd, 1951.
Adjournment
It was moved by Member Halferty, seconded by Member Poulter, and
carried, that the meeting adjourn; sine die.
