THE CHULA,.VISTA PLANNING COMMSSION
Held Suly 11, 1949
The Planning Commission met in regular session on the above date at 7:30
P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall with Chairman Davis presiding.
Present: Members Davis, Irey, Cloyed, and Welton.
Ex- Officio Members Boyer and Foster.
Absent: Members Guest and Fisher.
Motion was made by Member Trey, seconded by Member Welton,and carried,
that the minutes of the last meeting held Tune 6th, be approved.
Flower Street School Site
Mr. E. L. Freeland presented a plot plan of the Chula Vista Union School
District's Flower Street School Site. After discussion, motion was made by
Member Welton that the location of the Elementary Public School on real property
described as follows--
The Southwest Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter of Quarter Section 161 Rancho de la
Nacion in the City of Chula Vista, County of
San Diego, State of California, except the
Westerly 170 feet thereof.
is pursuant to Section 6-A, subsection 3 of the Zoning Ordinance approved; and
that the plan for Public Street opening and improvements shown on said Plot Plan
presented to the Planning Commission by engineer E.- L. Freeland, is approved as
to form and design. The motion was seconded by Member Cloyed and carried.
Resolution No. 1 - Granting Zone Variance relating to Lot 6, Block 2 of Gulick
Tract, a Subdivision, to Frank Manning.
Resolution No. 1 was offered by Member Irey, read in -full, passed, adopted
and approved by the following vote to-wit:
AYES: Members Irey, Cloyed, Davis and Welton.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Members Fisher and' Guest.
Tree Removal-
The
emovalThe following requeste were made for trees to be removed--
Mr. C. R. Hanan 206 Garrett Avenue
Mrs. H. R. Bullen 324 Roosevelt Street
Mrs. P. L. Matthews 310 Roosevelt Street
These three requests, having been approved by the Park Superintendent, it
was moved by Member Cloyed,' seconded by Member Irey, and carried, that subject
to the usual deposit of $5.00 per tree, the trees be removed. The $5.00 to be
refunded when replacement trees are planted and approved by the Park Superintendent.
Zone Variance - Ruth V. McCoy
Mrs. McCoy requested a variance be granted so that she might finish and
decorate the Garage for living quarters for her son and herself so that the
house on the front of her property could be rented. After discussion, it was
moved by Member Irey, seconded by Member Welton, and.carried, that the City
Attorney be instructed to draw up a resolution setting forth the written find-
ings of facts granting this variance.
Zone Variance - Richard C. Trago
Mr. Richard C. Trago requested a variance from the rear and side yard set-
back requirements of Ordinance No. '398. After discussion, it was moved by Member
Cloyed, seconded by Member Irey, and carried, that the variance be granted.
Zone Variance - Francis A. and Sarah E. Smith
Mr. and Mrs. Smith requested that their property be re-zoned from TMR 3n to
"C-111. After lengthy discussion, it was moved by Menber Irey, seconded .by Member
Welton, and carried, that the City Engineer and City Attorney prepare a resolu-
tion to be based on an Engineers Map to be presented by petitioners, granting a
variance for use of the property for a parking lot and for a store to be constructed
according to the map.
Adjournment
Upon motion by Member Welton, seconded by Member Irey, and carried, the meet-
ing was adjourned sine die.
