Fisher, Guest," Ire' ' Cloyed., Absent: None, , _ Minutes. of regular k6et3ng .held;July 6., 1948, having been. prepared and mailed to each member of the Commission and to each member of the Council, upon motion by Member Davis seconded-by Member Guest, and carried, were approved with the,exaeption of the portion of that paragraph Nos7 relative to the Fredericka Home; which is deleted, - ACCEPTANCE OF ALLEY: Mr;awrence Kuebler appeared.-before the Commission, requesting.the;.acceptance-of alley,. - -Upon .motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member. Davis. and carried,"it' was recommended to accept the alley -at Second Avenue and ."F";:Street, subject to, approval--of City Engineer- Foster regarding the surfacing of-same. REMOVAL-OF TREES: The secretary read 'a request made by-Mrs.Daisy, Bigelow that she -be;allowed.toremove three black acacia trees from in front of her property at 221 .Garrett Street, and 2 acacia trees from in front of her courts at 233 Church Streets Upon recommendation of Park Superintendent Norman that these be removed by the city, and'the. owner- to place with the city a deposit of $5.,00 for each- tree removed, it was. moved by Member Irey, seconded by Member Cloyed, and • carried that this request."be -granted,6, Mrs.Johmston of 575 Casselman Street, -having made request to remove 3 acacia trees from.the parking in front of her property, it was moged by Member Welton, seconded ame be. granted, upon recommendation of Park by, Member Fisher, and carried, that s Superintendent Norman, with the usual-provisions. ZONEVARIANCES:(Published, at.least one week previous. to meeting).: . rs,Othelia"Miller again appeared before the Cormnission, presenting plans, as requested by. the Commission at their July 6,. 1948 meeting. Upon motion by - Member WOlton, .seconded by:Member Guest, and carried, Zone Varian ce.:request' was granted_to build two- (2) separate cottages orone duplex on her 'property 4, 587 H Street,.: along the lines submitted, to consist of one. bedroom .each. . Mr.John Bernhard appeared before .the Commission regarding his Zone Variance request made July .6, 19481. -After some discussion P4r.Bernhard -was asked to get a letter=from.Mr , John M.McDonald, Superintendent of Schools, relative to his , ideas -on.the operation of;a.market .at, that property.- Zone ,Variance request madefthe.Chula Vista Uniori:School District; was discussed by various members•,of.-..the audience, ,stating that the'Ch . ber of Cormnerae Planning Committee would like a little more time to study :same. Mr.Ralph Keithley also making this request. Upon motion by Member Trey; se' conded.by Member Welton and carried, it was moved to-.bring. .the matter-up again at an adjourned:meeting to be • held August -16, 1948y so .that any.interested parties could give it,further- consideration. At this point it was decided that Zone Variance requests be made not more than 30 days before publication, 'and not less -than ten-.days. ZONE VARIANCES CONTINUED: Mr.Charles C®Wilson appeared before the Commission ' relative,to-.his ;Zone Variance request to- conduct a trucking business at - 705 National`Avenue:, Upon motion by Member Fisher, seconded by Member Irey, and carried,__ it was moved that Mr.Wils?n be granted this request, "being on Lot 17, except the Westerly 125. feet o the northerly 85-feet, and excepting the Westerly 220 feet, of the Northerly 85 feet, Quartersection 147, lir.-Arthur H.Wilkie having petitioned for Zone- Variance at 223. Madrona Street, to allow his son, Fred Wilkie to operate areal estate office, it was moved by Member Davisj. 6econded. by. Member Welton; and-carried, that Mr.Wilkie be granted one yearns period from date of meeting, and that no sign larger than-12 square feet -'unlighted - be erebted: A,representative.of the Chula Vista Seventh Day, Adveniist 'Church- appeared before -the Commission relative to Zone Varaannce request to construct-a Church Building at 102-4th .Avenue. After some ,discussion relative to the parking conditions at that.particular spot- it was decided that the matter .again be brought up., at•the, adjourned meeting to be held,'August 16.,, 19/x.8, when Mr.Cloyed. and Mr. Welton have investigated same* WORDEN ACRES: -.Tentative Map, Upon motion by- Member Davis, seconded by Member . Guest, .and.carried, :the Iteritative map of Worden Acres was recommended for Councills approval, subject to City Engineerts .approval regarding drainage, - waiving,,sidewalks, 'Section 3:-Kyl of;the Subdivision Ordinance, as the Planning •.. Co_mmission Members feel-that the- requirements' of sidewalks would.be unreasonable because of the topography of the land. - ADJOURNMENT:. - Upon motion by .Member Welton,, seconded by.
