PLANNING COMMISSION HELD MONDAY, DECEAZBr,R 6. 198.
The Commission met in Regular session on the above date at 7.30 P.M.,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with- Chairman Davis presiding.
Members present: Davis, Welton, Irey, Guest, Cloyed. Absent: Member
Fisher.
Minutes of regular meeting held November 11 1948, having been prepared
and mailed to each member- of the Commission and to each member of the
Council,. were approved as mailed, upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by
Member Cloyed, and carried.
REMOVAL OF TREES: The secretary read a letter from C.L.Nored,Jr., requesting
the removal of two trees from between the sidewalk and curb at 562 McTntosh
Street. Upon motion by Member Cloyed, seconded by Member Welton,' and carried,
the request was granted upon the recommendation of Superintendent of Parks,
Chester Norman, that the city take them out, and subject to the usual deposit
of $5 per tree, until replaced.
ZONE VARIANCES: (Published at least ten days previous to meeting).
(1) Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Guest, and carried, the
request, for Zone Variance by Drs. E.L.Maurer and N.W.Burg, representing the
Chula Vista Vetinary Hospital at 80 National Avenue, was granted for the
remaining footage of their property; 125 feet of which is now business property.
(2) Upon motion by Member Welton, seconded by Member Guest, and carried, Zone
Variance request by Mr. CaB.Offerman was granted. Said request being for
the purpose of constructing duplex at rear of his home at 21 Fourth Avenue.
The request for 'Zone Variance by Mr. Roy Warren at 653 Orange Street for the
purpose of operating trailer court, upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by
Member Cloyed, and carried, was denied. This was a continuation of Mr.
Warren's request which was studied and investigated at length by a committee
.appointed by Mr.Davis, Chairman, at the Commission's meeting .of November 1,1948.
PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE: Chairman Davis presented Tentative maps of the
proposed new Zoning Ordinance prepared by Draftsman William Wheeler. After
each member had studied the tentative maps, upon motion by Member Davis,
seconded by Member Guest, and carried, it was moved that Mr.Albert Boyer,
City Attorney, be directed to prepare the necessary advertisements for public
hearing in the Chula Vista Star relative to the New Ordinance and the maps
pertaining thereto, and that Mr.Boyer establish the date for first Public
Hearing at the earliest possible moment.
