HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-11-01 PC MINS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CHULA VISTA PLANNING C0MMISSION HELD MONDAY, November 1, 1948 The Commission met in regular session on the above date at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers of t.e City Hall, with Chairman Davis presiding. Members present: Davis, Welton, Fisher, Guest, Cloyed and Irey. Absent: None. Minutes of regular meeting held October 4, 1948, having been prepared and mailed to each member of the Commission and to each member of the Council, were approved as mailed, UPON MOTION by Member Irey, seconded by Member Welton, and carried. ZONE VARIANCES: PUBLISHED IN THE CHULA VISTA STAR: PREVIOUS TO MEETING: (1). Mr. Roy Warren appeared before the Cor2mission relative to his request for Zone Variance for the purpose of operating a 34 Unit Trailer Court at 653 Orange Avenue, Chula Vista. Several property owners adjoining the above property were present to voice their objections, also members of the Commission discussed a Public Petition signed by interested parties. After some lengthy dis- cussion both pro and con, Chairman Davis appointed Members Cloyed, Fisher, Welton, and Irey to investigate the situation, and report their findings and recommendations at the next Regular Meeting of the Commission to be held hZonday, December 6, 1918, at 7:30 P.M Mrs. Guest refused her appointment stating she was prejudiced. (2). Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Fisher, and carrried, the Zone Variance request by Mr. and Mrs. Gerrett W. Gregory, to operate a small class for the Day Care of Children not to exceed six small children - at their home 233 "G" Street, was granted, for a period of one (1) year from this date. REMOVAL OF TREES: The secretary read a letter to the Commission signed by G. Mable Eggleston of 361 Roosevelt Street, requesting the removal of acacia trees from in front of her property. Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Guest, and carried, removal of these trees was granted upon the recommendation of Park Superintendent Norman, with the usual provision of a deposit of why per tree, until the replacement of cocos plumosa palms instead of the hybiscus bushes suggested by Miss Eggleston. . Upon motion by Member Cloyed, seconded by Member Fisher, and carried, the written request of Anna.M. Boyd for the removal of trees from in front of her property at 236 Del Mar Avenue, was granted, subject to the provisions as set forth by the city, and upon recommendation of Chester Norman, Park Superintendent, that the city take them out, after such deposit has been placed with the City Clerk for the replacemebt of same. ff7RDEN ACRES: Upon motion by Member Cloyed, seconded by Member Fisher, and carried, the tentative map of Werden Acres was approved for recommendation to City Council, subject to Section 3-K, of the Subdivision Ordinance waiving sidewalks because of the isolated location of the above Subdivision, and subject to a Banjo diameter of 100 feet, instead of the 80 foot diameter as shown on tentative map. MARIE HATZ SUBDIVISION: Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Guest, and carried, the preliminary and final maps of the Hatz Subdivision were approved, and recommendations made to City Council, subject to a 20 foot set-back, and b foot utility easement on backs of all lots. ADJOURNMENT: Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member Irey, the meting was adjourned sine die. Following adjournment all members of the Commission gathered for an informal session to discuss further details on the proposed e Zoning Ordinanc , City Attorney Boyer and City. Secretary.
