The Commission met in the council Chambers of the City Hall, at an adjourned regular meeting on the abovedate, at 7.30 P.T.J. , with Chairman Davis presiding. lriembers present: Davis, Guest , Irey,. ;elton. 1'bsent: I.1embers Fisher and Doolittle. City Engineer -zlgert and rIsst._lttorney Boyer were present. City ,,,ttorney Higgs having been called to Los Angeles on City business., I+dinutes of the regular meeting held March 3, 1947 having been prepared and mailed to each member of the Commission, were approved as prepared and wiled by the following vote, to--Wit: ':yes: Hembers Irey, Melton, Guest , Davis. Noes: None. Absent: Mombers Fisher and Doolittle. MMOVP.I, OF, TMES_ The clerk read a letter to the Commission by Dr.K_arl Kellogg, in which he requested the removal of three black acacia trees from in front of his residence at 669 Del Irar ,venue. `,'ter some discussion, 1dem.ber Melton suggested that action be postponed. It teras therefore tabled until the entire block could be investigated as to the advisability of having the defective trees all taken out at the same time. Chairman Davis appointed Mlember -Ueltor_ to make insp-ection of same, and report at the next meeting. Is4r�l�o Blais of 723 E7zri avenue having made a request for the removal of a dead tree from in front of his residence too late for investigation of -Park Superintendent Chester Norman, the clerk was instructed to notify I:!2r.1Iorman that he inspect same, and report at the next meeting. 1is..Charles Sonitz Tr. , made a request to the Commission by letter, for the removal of a tree directly in the driveway of his property. Upon motion by . Member Irey, seconded by I ember Guest , the removal request liras granted, upon recorrmrendation of I:?.Nor an. Motion carried. (271 Del Mar !venue} TTe Secretary read a letter to the Commission from I�1r. T.O.Floyd, requesting the renoval of a black acacia tree from in front of their property at 179 Cypress Street. . Park Superintendent Norman having investigated this condition, made recommendation that this tree be removed as it was taking up the sidewalk seven inches above parking. Upon motion by Member 'Telton, seconded by I'Iernber Irey, and carried, the secretary -vras instructed to inform 12t?.Floyd of its approval, stipulating the usual provisions of the Ordinance governing trees, i.e. that the sane be replaced with palm trees as suggested by the Floyds in their letter, and the usual �5 deposit made to the city clerk until its replacement. PETITION FOR YL12!�OVA�, OF 'MME TRIMS: A petition having been signed by six property oTomers for the removal of three trees on the north side of "G" Street between Third .`venue and Del 1,Iar _lvenue, for the purpose of building sidewalk adjoining curb, it was moved by 1.1ember Davis, seconded by Member Trey, and carried, that the removal be gbanted. 7AItiT VARIl�XIES: Published at least one :°reek previous to meeting. Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by 11-ember Guest, i,-hic# carried, the request for 'Zone Variance made by Ivirs._:,dela Butcher, for the purpose of operating a Beauty Parlor at her residence 583 "Flo Street, being 'Lot 9 in Block 2 of Roberta Park Subdivision No.2, was granted for a period of one (1) year. Upon motion by Member Trey, seconded by I:4ember '7 elton, tivhich carried., 1 Zone Variance request made by Iirz'. Jame s P.Hartley for the purpose of operating , a Dental Laboratory in the wash house at the rear of his property 333 Roosevelt Street, was granted for a period of one (1) year. RECORD OF _SURVEY: Idir.Laivrence Kuebler and Mr. 7.0.Smith being present, offered a Record _ f--Survey for the Commission's action. - The Commission-,--after--,_ much discussion decided upon E?recomraendation of Assistant Attorney Boyer, that the matter be again taken up at their next meeting April 7, 1947, in order that legal points can be further investigated. r •i SUBDITIISIOIT 0_RDIl�AITCE: City Attorney Higgs having prepared a copy for each member of -the Commission of an Ordinance providing regulations for the Subdivision of Sand, for the Dedication of Streets, and for the iLpproval of Naps thereof in the City of .Chula Vista: and Chairman Davis, having applied his signature to a letter addressed to the City Council for the adoption of sate, it was moved by Member aelton, seconded by Member Irey, that a vote be cast for its adoption and recommendation to the Council. _=tiyes; Members Welton, Irey, Guest , Davis. Noes: None. Absent: XB' tubers Irisher and Doolittle.
