MONDAY, NUV MBER 3, 1917 at 7.30 P.M. _
The Commission met in regular session on the above date at 7.30 P.I41.5
in the Council Chambers of the City Ilall, with Chairman Davis presiding.
Members present: Davis, Fisher, JTelton, Irey, Guest. Absent: None.
Minutes of regular meeting held October b, 1947, were approved as
read.
COUNTRY CLUB MhCCA TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION MAP: Upon motion by Member
Guest, seconded by Member Irey, which carried, approval and recommendation
to City Council was given, for the proposed changes requested by Mr.Long,
as out-lined in his letter to the Commission, and as presented in the
tentative map showing the subdivision to be divided into smaller lots than
was originally planned.
RECORD OF SUrtVE : Mr.Lawrence Kuebler appeared before the Conuni ssion
with his Record of Survey snowing the proposed project at Second Avenue
and "K" Street. Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Welton,
which carried, was approved, subject to acceptance of City Council,
with reference to streets and drainage.
ZONE VIffl.IJNCES: (Published at least one week previous to meeting) .

Upon motion by Member Fisher, seconded by Member Welton, which carried,
the request for Zone Variance of the Bank of America National Trust and
Savings Bank, for the purpose of using that particularly described vacant
property, namely, Lot b-E, in Quartersection 137, at 248 Church Street,
for off-street parking, ;-vas granted.
(2) Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member Welton, the request
for Zone Variance of the T & D.Transfer for the purpose of building a
commercial garage at 213 Del Mar Avenue, for storage purposes, was denied.
IviOVAL Ur 1'F?EES,: The request for removal of two acacia trees from in
front of property owned by Floyd L.Steward at 202 "F" Street, for the
reason that the roots from such trees are spreading throughout Heir laz,rn,
and at the recommendation of Park Superinpptendent �orman, upon motion by
Member Fisher, seconded by Member Irey.,ZtlieGrequest was granted, subject
to the usual requirements, namely, that a deposit of $5 per tree be made
in the City Clerk's office, and that same be replaced with Palms.
REMOVAL OF TREE: Upoh motion by Member Welton, seconded by Member Fisher,
which carried, the request of 117r.O'Brien at 723 Elm Avenue, for removal
of large pepper tree in his parking, for the reason the roots are taking
up the sidewalk, was granted upon recommendation of Chet Norman, Park
Superintendent, with the usual provisions.
OBj CTIONS TO PRUPOSED PROJECT: There being a large body of citizens
present who voiced their disapproval of a, proposed building project
which has come to their knowledge, upon motion by Member Davis, seconded
by Member Fisher, and carried, that the concensus of the Planning Commission
was, to support the protest as set forth by these citizens, which they
feel, if carried out, viould be highly detrimental to the City of Chula Vista.
Also the commission suggests that the developers of such a project
milk reconsider their decision, if they have decided to proceed
with same, and that a copy of this Resolution,which shall be attached
hereto, be sent to all those interested in the proposed project.
In this connection Dr. Robert Griffin appeared to make a specific
statement, that, in view of any changes made in the proposed type of
construction, he wished to go on record in these minutes as strenuously
objecting to the use of his name on any map presented to the ComnLission
for approval of Council., at the location proposed First Avenue and "G" Street .
Dr. D.P.Brassard represented the body of citizens present.
ADJUURNMEN T: Upon motion by Member Fisher, seconded by Member Irey,
