PLANNING C MXM$ION, HELD MARCH 4, 1946.
The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at
7.30 otclock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with
Chairman Johnson presiding. Members present: Johnson, Davis,
Starkey. Absent: Members Griffin and Cotton; and Ex-Officio
Member Ri esland, City Manager Ray and City Attorney Higgs were present.
PLUS FOR CIVIC CENTER Upon motion by Member Starkey,
seconded by Member Davis, and carried% plans presented to the Commission
by Mr. E.Charles Parke, architect for the city, were approved and
recommended for submission to the councils at their next regular meeting
to be held Monday, March 11, 1946.
ZONE VARIANCE - Henry F.Hatzs Upon motion by Member Starkey,
seconded by Member Johnson, and carried, the request of Henry F.Hatz
for Zone Variance as published in the Chula Vista Star one week previous
to this meeting, was granted for business purposes on the Westerly
1322 feet of Iot 27-B and Lot 30-B, including therein Lots 30-09 27-C
and 27-D, in Quartersection 139, located -on Third Avenue between
ttJtt Street and "K" Street.
ZONE VARIANCE - Richard L.Zurcher. Upon motion by Member Johnson,
seconded by Member Davis, and carried, request for Zone Variance as
published in the Chula Vista Star one week previous to this meeting,
for the purpose of operating nursery plants at 350 Church Street,
described as Lot 10 in Block 4, of the Chula Vista Villa Tract No.2,
was granted.
ZONE VARIANCE --Dolly Davis Boarding House. Mrs.Dollie D.Davis
appeared before the Ccamtssion relative to request for Zone Variance
as published in the Chula Vista Star February 15, 1946, for the
purpose of operating a Boarding House for men at 194 G Street,
described as portion of Lot 1, Quarte rseetion 123 - being 164 feet by
143 feet.
Upon motion by Member Starkey, seconded by Member Johnson, and
carried, it was moved that this request be- granted for a period of two (2)
years, at which time P,+Irs.Davis shall apply for renewal.
BARNES SUBDIVISION: Tentative plans were presented to the Commission
by Mr.Barnes for proposed Subdivision on Parkway between Fourth Avenue
and Fifth Avenue, being Lot 9-K in Quartersection 149, to be known as
"Barned Subdivision"; also tentative plans submitted for proposed Subdivision
on Parkway between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, being Lot 9-1 in Quartersection
149, to be knovm as the "Kramer Subdivision".
Upon motion by Member Johnson, seconded by Member Davis,
and carried, the tentative plans were accepted, subject to satisfactory
agreement furnished for installation of improvements.
DAVIDSON STREET: The Commission authorized City Manager Ray
to run the lines on Davidson Street
to ascertain how much width could be given without removing buildings,
the Commission also recommending that the Council acquire all that
footage if same is adequate enough to create a safe usable street.
REMOVAL OF TREES': Upon motion by Member Starkey, seconded by
Member Davis, and carried, permission was grante o remove three pepper
trees from in front of the property owned by Mr. C.F.Walker at 510
Third Avenue, provided Mr.Walker replace same by Coco Plumosas trees.
Upon motion by Member Sohnson, seconded by Member Starkey, and
carried, it was moved that the removal of Eucalyptus trees from
in front of property owned by Mr. H.M.Callecod at 313-5th Avenue,
and adjoining property, be granted.
Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member Starkey, and
carried, permission to remove three trees in parkway in front of
property owned by.Mr. V.L.Kilbourn at 380 "E" Street, was granted.
Request of Mr.Hayes at 642 Third Avenue, for the removal of
two cypress trees from parking, was referred to City Manager Ray
further investigation.
ADSOUVT: Upon motion by Member Starkey, seconded by Member
Davis, t meeting was adjourned sine die.
