The Commission met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, at an adjourned regular meeting, on the above date, at 7.30 p.m. , with Chairman Tohnson presiding. Present: Members Tohnson, Starkey, Davis, Cotton and Irey. Absent: Member Griffin. Mayor Keithley having appointed Mr.George Irey 'as member of the Chula Vista Planning Cor mission, and the clerk of the Planning Commission having notified Mr.Irey of this appointment, 11Ir.Irey was seated to membership. RE JOV1LL OF TREES Mr.Young of 571-4th Avenue - Pepper tree to be removed. Upon motion by Member Johnson, seconded by Member Starkey, and carried, and upon recommendation of Street Superintendent Lynn Love, the above request was granted. Mr. Don Salem of 726 Del Mar Avenue. Request for removal of Acacia trees for the purpose, of putting in new sidewalk and curb. Upon motion by Member Tohnson, seconded by Member Starkey, and carried, the above request was granted. Mr.Hayes - 642-3rd Avenue - Request for removal of Cypress trees. This matter was referred to Street Superintendent Lynnve for his recommendation. ZOITE VARIANCES AS FOLLOINS: Published at least one week previous to meeting: (1) Upon motion by Member Cotton, seconded by Yemb\r Starkey, and carried, request for Zone Variance signed by E.A.Bonnoront, Tze asurer of Pilgrim Ev.Lutheran Church of Chula Vista, as it relates to Lots 6 and 7, Block 1, Brightwood Subdivision, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and "E" Street, for the purpose of constructing a Church and Parish Hall, was grante d. (2) Upon motion by Member Tohnson, seconded by Member Starkey, and carried, request for Zone Variance signed by Lloyd a.& Mabel M.Kester of 555 Glover Street, as it relates to Lots 14 and 15 in Phelps Subdivision, for the purpose of operating the manufacture of art novelties from clay and plaster in the rear of their home, was granted for a period of one year, when, at the expiration of same, the Commission will inspect the operation of same, giving their consent for further continuance or otherwise. (3) Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by bhmber Starkey, and carried, request for Zone Variance signed by August D.Grivalva, to operate ` Public Dining Room at 197 Fourth Avenue, on the property knovm as the Leach property, by San Diego Trust & Savings Bank, Gi:ardian of the Estate, as it relates to Lot 32 Block 1369 was granted. (4) Upon motion by Member Starkey, seconded by Member Irey, and carried, request for Zone Variance signed by Florence A.Blench.ard, for the purpose of -renting buildings at 354 and 358 "E" Street,,.as it relates to Lots 11. and 1-2 in Thompson's Subdivision, .for real estate offices, beauty shops or other business as the occasion may arise, was granted. (5) Upon motion 'by Member Starkey, seconded by Member Cotton, and carried, request for Zone Variance signed by Zazal Hutchinson,' for the purpose of manufacturing brassieres at her home 197 "G" -Street, as it relates to Lot 32-G, Qgartersection 124, was granted for a period of one year, at which time the operation of same shall again 'be inspected by the Commission for either further continuance or otherwise. (6) Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member Starkey, which carried, request for Zone Variance signed by T.E.Tones, Manager of the Sery-All Manufacturing Company, for the purpose of manufacture and assembly of fractional horse-power motors by selves and by succeeding owners of this property, described as Lot 2, in .'Quartersection 140, located at 310 "K" Street, and 120 feet west of same, was granted. ,r (7) Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Nbmber Johnson, and carried, request for Zone Variance signed by"Gust Kotitsa. of 701 ",'te Street,___. on property described as Lot 7 in �aartersection 164 (72 acres)-- for the purpose of repairing and building farm equipment, tractors,etc., was granted., (8) Mr.Warren Thomas having had published his request for Zone Variance, as it relates to his property Int 3, Quartersection 164 (600 block) "I" Street, for the purpose of manufacturing and machine shop, was requested bby the Commission to republish sane as it relates to the Nest 100 feet of his property on "J" Street. (9) MT. and Mrs. Harrison Vinson having published request for Zone Variance at 498 "H" Street, for the purpose of operating a Home for elderly folk, were asked by the Commission for additional signatures to their petition for same, to be presented at their next meeting. (10) Request for Zone Variance signed by H.F.Hatz, as' it relates to specific property from Third Avenue to Del Mar Avenue, on "K" Street, was postponed to next meeting of the Commission for further discussion. 000000000000000000 ..� HAYRES VILIAS SUBDIVISION: Tentative Mys Upon motion by Member Tohnson, seconded by Member Irey, -and carried, tentative maps presented by Messrs. Kistner, Curtis & Wright, !architects and Engin&ers, as it relates to all of Lot 18, Quartersection 136, EXCEPT that portion of Said Lot 18 further described in said tentative maps, were recohmended for Council approval. r� KRA= & HIBDON TRACT AND NANNI SUBDIVISION: Tentative Maps. Upon motion by Member Johnson, seconded by Member Cotton, and carried, tentative maps having been presented to the Commission by the representatives of both proposed Subdivisions, were recommended for Council approval, subject to improvements in conformity to the established practices in the City of Chula Vista. ROBERTA PARK - UNITS NOS. 2 and 3: Upon motion by Member Cotton, seconded by Member Davis, and carried, tentative maps for above, were recormmended to Council for approval.
