PLANNING'_COMMISSION, HELD M01MAY, TUNE 3, 1946.
The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at 7.30
o'clock P.M.,- in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chai=mi
Tohnson presiding. - Members present: Tohnson; Griffin,, Irey, Cotton;
Absent: Members Starkey and Davis. Ex-Offieio+'Riesland and City
Attorney Higgs were present.
Minutes of the regular meeting held May 6, 19469 having been prepared',
and mailed to each member of the Commission, dere approved as prepared
and mailed.
APPROVAL OF FINAL MAPS ON FOLLO'=G SUBDIVISIONS:
ROBERTA PARK NO.2: - Upon motion by Member Griffin; seconded by Member
Cotton, the final map on Roberta Park N0.2 was approved. Carried.
ROBERTA PARK N0.3: Upon motion by Member Cotton, seconded by Member
Griffin, final map on Roberta Park No.3 was approved. Carried.
NA NNI SUBDIVISION: Upon motion by Member Cotton, seconded by Member
Irey, and carried, final map of Nanni Subdivision was approved and
accepted..
BEASLEY SUBDIVISION: Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member
Cotton, and carried, final map of Beasley Subdivision was approved and
accepted.
ZONE VARIANCE: Published one week previous to meeting:
Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member Cotton, and carried
Zone Variance petition signed by Mr. Frank P.Shellenberger for the purpose
of operating a sign shop in the rear of his home at. 291 Alveradc , described
as Lot 1 of Van Devere & Merritt Tract, in the City of Chula Fista, several
property owners having subscribed to said petition their names, was granted
for a period of one year from this date, at which time Mr.Bhellenberger
will again apply for renewal, to be denied or granted by',the Commission.
The above also is granted with the understanding.no exterior signs shall be
visible on said property.
WARREN TEOW: Re Zone Variance Granted May 6, 1946. Mr.Thomas again
appeared regarding the above stating he was unable to get material for the
building of a new construction of concrete and corrugated iron as heretofore
planned, and asked the Commission for permission to use the old present
building on "I" Street, instead of= the location asked previously and published
in the Chula Vista Star. Mr.Thcmas having advertised for his location -to be
on "T" Street, the Commission advised that he again. advertise the new
location, viz: on "I" Street West of National Avenue, being Lot"3, Quarter-
section 164. However, in the meantime, upon motion by Member Griffin, ,
seconded by Member Irey, and carried, Mr.Thomas was granted 30 days temporary
Zone Variance.
fIERMOSA MANOR - Tentative Map:
Upon motion by Member Johnson, seconded by Member Irey, and carried,
the tentative map .of Hermosa Manor Subdivision was recommended for
Council approval, with Member Griffin not voting, subject to
improvements in conformity to the established practices in the City
of Chula Vista, and the furnishing of a bond or other security for
said improvements.
MASTER PLAN: Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member
Irey, and carried, it was moved that the Planning Commission go on
record as asking for some help to be determined by the Council
so that the work started on the Master Plan can be continued.
ADJOURNMENT: Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member
Johnson and carried a meeting adjourned sine die.
