MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHULA VISTA
PLANNING COMMISSION, HEID MONDAY, JULY 11 1946
The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at 7.30
o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chairman'
Johnson presiding. Members present: Johnson, Irey, Cotton, Davis.
Absent: Members Starkey and Griffin, and City Attorney Higg and Asst.
Attorney Boyer. Building Inspector Willits and City Engineer Henry
Algert were present.
MLnutes of the regular meeting held Tune 3, 1946, having been
prepared and mailed to each member of the Commission, were approved
as prepared and mailed.
HUBBARD SUBDIVISION - Tentative Map._ Upon motion by Member
Johnson, seconded by Member Cotton, and carried, the ,tentative map
submitted by Mr.L.R.Hubbard, was approved for recommendation to
City Council for their approval, subject to adequate security- to
mover the costs of the improvements as shown on tentative map, and
subject to the usual practices established in the City of Chula Vista.
ZONE VARIANCES: Published at least one week previous to Meeting:
Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Davis, and carried,
Zone Variance for Riding Academy as it relates' to 500 feet on north
City limits between First Avenue and Second Avenue, in Sweetwater Valley
in the City of Chula Vista, to be known as L.R.Hubbard's Subdivision,
was granted.
Upon mption by Member Cotton, seconded by Member Irey, and carried, .
Zone Variance, as it relates to Lots 8 to 11 Block 6, San Diego Land.
and Town Co's Subdivision, Corner Landis and Madrona,, for the purpose
of manufacturing Cold Storage Lockers and Frozen Food Locker Plant,
petitioned by R.L.French, W.H.Hermes III, and W.E.Thomas, was granted.
ZONE VARIANCE - Sibley Aronson Manufacturing. Petition signedr,by
Sibley Aronson, was read by the clerk, asking Zone Variance for the
operation of machine shop at 577 TMH" Street, formerly used for similar
business, in the present corrugated building. The Commission advised
that Mr.Aronson appear at the next meeting of the board, and the clerk
was instructed to so advise, in order that he might state exactly his
requirements to operates in that locality.
CASTRO & HORNING: Mr.Homing appeared before the Commission,, having
petitioned for Zone Varianee as-It relates to 157 National Avenue, for
the purpose of using trailer for office purposes. Attorney Higgs
advised that this was not a matter for the Planning Commission -
and advised Mr.Horning to confer with Building Inspector Willits to
ascertain what could be worked out.
