PLANNING COM USSION, HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 1946
The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at 7.30
o+clock PoM,, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chairman
Johnson presiding. Members present: Johnson, Griffin, Cotton, Davis.
Absent: Members Starkey and Irey. Also present were City Attorney
Higgs, Building Inspector Willits, and City Engineer Algert.
Minutes of the regulat meeting held. July 1, 1946, having been
prepared and mailed to each member of the Commission, were approved
as prepared and mailed.
'ZONE VARIANCES: Published at least one week previous to meeting.
Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member Cotton, `L,one::Variance
for permission to operate food store in home at 202 Church Street,
requested by Mrs. Frances Cole, was granted for a period of one year from
this date, in order to give Mrs•Cole the opportunity to locate same
suitable location during that period. Member Griffin not:vgting.
Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member Cotton, and carried,
application for Zone Variance -signed by Mr. Howard F.Banks, to extend
his proposed Motel Building 165 feet East of National Avenue, on Roosevelt
Street, was granted.
Upon motion by Member Cotton, seconded by Member Davis, and carried,
Zone Variance application signed by Mr.Sibley Aronson, for permission
to operatd•maohine shop in the present corrugated building facing "H"
Street East of National Avenue, was granted for one year from this date,
giving Mr.Aronson the opportunity to locate a more suitable location.
PETITION FOR .REMOVAL OF TREES.
A petition was presented to the Commission, signed by several
property owners on "T", Street, West of National Avenuerg re45estiz1g..:the
removhLl of 17 Eucalyptus Trees fronting their property.
The request was referred to Member Davis, and Street Superintendent
Love, for investigation, to report at the next meeting.
ADJOURNMENT: Upon motion by Member Tohnson, seconded by Member
Cotton meeti djourne d sine die.
