HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946-11-04 PC MINS MIIJUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF PLANNING COHaSSION HELD MONDAY, NOVETMER 4, 1946 The Commission met in regularsession on the above date, at 7.30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chairman Johnson presiding. Members present: Johnson,. Davis, Irey, Cotton, Griffin. Absent: Member Starkey. Also present were officio-members Li.ty Attorney Higgs,, Assistant Attorney, Albert Boyer, and City Engineer Algert, and Building Inspector Frank Willits. Minutes of the regular meeting held October 7, 1946, having been prepared and 'mailed to each member of the Commission,,were approved as prepared and mailed. ' RKIOVAL OF TREE,'-.s. Charles Christenson Upon motion by member Griffin, seconded by Mamber Johnson, which carried, the request for removal of pepper tree by Mr.Charles Christenson, from in front of his property at 392 "I" Street, was denied. ZONE VARIANCES; -�Ublished at least one week previous tot his meeting. Upon motion by Mamber Griffin, seconded by Member Irey, which carried, it was moved that the request of Mr. James M.Ater to construct a 40 x 60 foot concrete floor, concrete block building for Sash and Door Mill on the I'lest 60 feet of the Southerly 125 feet of Lot 31 Quartersection 139, being 341 "K" Street, be again presented at the next regular meeting of the Commission to be held Monday, December 2, 1946 in order to secure recommendation from Fire Chief Lee, and Building Inspector Willits , in writing. Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member Johnson, the request for Zone Variance by Mr. J.E.Eddy, to build an Eight (S) Unit Court at 207 to 213 "FTM Street , was Granted. With Member Cotton not-"'Voting. REMOVAL OF TREES: Upon motion by Member Irey, seconded by Member Johnson, which carried, request of Mr. Fred W.Stafford to remove trees from parking on National Avenue between "I" and „Jrr Streets on the East side, for the purpose of developing his property into a business district, was granted, also upon recommendation of Street Superintendent, Lynn Love. GRIFFIN PARK; Tentative Map. Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member Davis, which carried, tentative map of prop.obed Griffin Park Subdivision, was approved for recommendation by council. Mr.Goerlieh representing Chula Vista Development Company was present. Member Johnson vacated chair and did not vote The Planning Commission approved tentative map as submitted with recommenda- tion to council that improvements be according to specifications approved by City Engineer, which includes streets to be constructed of Oil Road Mix surf ace on a D.G. Base. HUBBARD'S SUBDIVISION; Final Map. Upon motion by Member Davis, seconded by Member ToYmson, final map.:of proposed Hubbard's Subdivision was approved, with recommendation to Council. With Member .Griffin voting No. I=ATURE AUTO -RACE TRACK: ' Non-Profit: Upon motion by.Member Griffin, seconded by Member Irey, the request for operation 'of Miniature Auto Race Track on a non-profit basis, to be located on. City owned property, Eucalyptus Park, was approved, pending investigation of City Attorney Higgs as to legality of same, and upon approval of City Council.
