The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at
7.30 P.M. , in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chai iman
Johnson presiding. Present: Members Johnson, Smith, Parke, Chase,
Griffin, Starkey. Ex-Officios Riesland and Bryant, and City Attorney
'Keith Atherton. !-bsent: None.
Minutes of the regular meeting held May 7, 1945, having been
prepared and mailed to each member of the Commission, t,rere approved
as prepared and mailed.
SYMETTV,TATER UNION HI(i{I SCHOOL, DISTRICT PURCWE OF LOT FOR
VOCATIONAL CLASSES:
The clerk read a letter dated May 21, 1945 from It,. T.M.YeDonald,
District Superintendent of Sweetwater Union High School District requesting
this Commission to consider the proposed purchase of lot 10, in Quartersection
150 of Assessors Map 25, size 50 feet by 90 feet in depth, at 131 National
Avenue, for the purpose of maintaining Vocational Classes.
Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member Chase, which
carried, the clerk eras instructed to write Mr. TA3Donald that the Planning
Commission grantsthc ap.praval of the above site for Vocational Classes
by Sweetwater Union High School District' and their purchase of same.
ZONE VI'SI'iMTCE FOR ORCHID FARM:
Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by I&-mber Sohnson, which
carried, the clerk eras instructed to write 141r. G.S.Moore,Tr. ,that zone
variance for the above is granted, on property located between First Avenue
and Hilltop Drive, betrieen "G" and "N" Streets, being that portion of Lot 6-",
Quartersection 123, Assessors I;Iap 25-A.

of 10-21n.d .Avenue, appeared before the Commission requesting Zone Variance
on property described as Lots 13-B and 14-8 (2i acres) �;uartersection 150,
.Assessors Ifiap 25-A. on "D" Street between Fourth and Fifth j�venues, for the
purpose of operating chicken farm comprising of enclosed chicken houses.
Upon motion by 14ember Starkey, seconded by Nbmber Parke, which
carried, the contemplated zone variance was granted Mr.Beach, subject to
the approval of Mr. George Ray, Planning Director, and of Is. Don Chase,
Planning Commission Member.

PROPERTY AS A COWOERCIAL ZONE.
Upon motion by Member Griffin, .seconded by hbmber Starke-a, which
carried, the clerk was. instructed to notify each petitioner that
the above pdi.tion had been received, and that the Committee on Land Use
would give its careful consideration of same.
SEVER LINES: Upon motion by Member Chase, seconded by Member
Griffin, which carried, recommendation was made to the City Council,
that the City of Chula Vista pay for the excess cost of Sewer Lines, above
the basic eight inch (811) pipe line.
