CALIFORNIA.,_ HELD JULY 16.2 1945
The Commission met in the Council Chambers of the City Miall, at
an adjourned regular meeting, lJonday, July 16 , 19,45, at 7:30 p.m. ,
with Chairman Johnson presiding. Present : Members Johnson, Smith,
Parke, Chase, Griffin; and Ex-Officio Riesland and City Attorney
Atherton, Planning Director George Ray. Absent: T,iember Starkey.
PETITIONERS OBJECTING LEE TRUCKING CO. NOTIFIED:
Upon motion by member Griffin, seconded by Ivivember Chase , the
clerk was instructed to notify all petitioners who signed their names,
objecting to the above operation at Fourth Avenue and E. Street , to
appear before the Commission at, this hearing, to be held at the
regular meeting`,August 6,`,1945. The motion was carried.

NATIONAL AVENUE ZWiING FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES: Upon motion by
Member Chase , seconded by saember Parke , it was moved that National
Avenue, from the North City Limits to 125 feet south of "Hp' Street,
on both sides of the Avenue , be zoned for businesses, each business.
running to`.a maximturi depth of 150 feet. The vote was lost by the
following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Members Chase and Parke; Noes:
l,iembers Johnson, Smith Griffin. Absent: T'iember Starkey.
NSTIONAL AVEiM BE ZONED AS INDICATED ON PRESENT ZONING MAP:
Upon motion by member Parke, seconded by Member Griffin, it was
moved that National Avenue from "C" Street south to "L" Street be
Zoned as indicated on present Zoning Map, with additions, namely the
southeast corner of "I't Street now occupied by the Richfield Oil
Company, and the Northwest corner of IT" Street; that all business
zoning be eliminated from this map starting at a point 150 feet west
of National Avenue , to and including all land down to Bay Boulevard.
The motion was carried by the following vote , to-wit : Ayes : IuIembers
Griffin, Johnson, Smith, Parke . Noes: Member Chase. Absent:
Member Starkey,
POLICY OF PERivaNENT ZONE VARIANCE: Upon motion by 11'ember
Griffen, seconded by iiember Parke, which carried, it was moved that
the Planning Commission adopt the policy of granting permanent zone
variance to businesses legally established and now opErating in the
City of Chula Vista, as. of July 16, 1945. This policy does not
include those businesses operating under temporary zone variance
permits.
SURVEY MAP OF RECORD: lipon motion by Mlember Parke, seconded
by ;,,iember Chase, it was moved that recommendation be made to the
Council of the Survey Map of Record, covering the Northwest corner of
Second Avenue and "E" Street, being a portion of ten acres. The
motion was carried by the following vote, to-wit : lyes: Members
Johnson, Smith, Chase , Parke. Not.(voti:ng Member Griffin, by reason of
personal interests. Absent : Member Starkey.

ZONE VARIANCE - Harold Tenewein - 681 Del Pilar Avenue.
Upon motion by k'lember Chase, seconded by Member Griffin, which
carried, the City Attorney was instructed to investigate further into
the above request.
