VIS TA, CALIFOMTIA, MD AUGUST 6, 1945 The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at 7.30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chairman Johnson presiding. Present: Members Johnson, Griffin, Parke, Chase; By Proxy Members Starkey and. Smith, and City Attorney Reith Atherton, and Ex-Officio Member A.A. Riesland. Absent: - Planning Director George Ray and Ex-Officio Member H.V.Bryant. Minutes of the regular.meeting held July 2, 1945, and of a regPr adjourned meeting held July 16, 1945, having been prepared and mail to each member of the Commission, were approved as prepared and mailed. REQUEST FOR CONVERSION TO XTO COURT: (VAN DOREN): 9he clerk read a letter from Mr. Van Doren, requesting permission to convert to an auto court or rooming.house accommodations, a six unit court now located at 290 Second Avenue, Chula Vista. Upon motion by Member Chase, seco nded by Member Parke, permission was- granted. Motion carried. APPOINT=T OF HARBOR COM, ISSIORT: Upon motion by Member Parke, seconded by Member Griffin, it was moved that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that they appoint a Harbor Commission to study the city's harbor possibilities and to act with the San Diego Harbor Commission in the future study and development of San Diego Bay. Said Harbor Commission to be composed of three members as follows:- 1. One member of the City Council. 2. One member .from the Planning Commission. 3. One member from one of the larger business firms using or contemplating the use of Harbor facilities. al The City Peer shall be an ex-officio member without the right of vote. Motion carried. PETITIONERS OBJECTING LEE TRUCKING COMPANY: All signers of a petition circulated, objecting to the above firm operating on the corner of Fourth A-mnue and E Street, having been notified of this meeting, appeared in -- body body voicing their individual objections. After much discussion, Mr. Roger B.Iee wasuunable to satisfy the commission of his ability to move, thereupon it was moved by Member Griffin, seconded by Member Johnson, that the matter be referredto the City Manager George Ray, with the recommendation of this commission to prosecute as a nuisance.
