COEMSSION OF M CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, HELD
JANUARY 41 1945
The Commission met in regular session on the above date, at
7.30 p.m. , in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, with Chairman
Johnson presiding.
Present: Members, Johnson, Griffin, Starkey, Smith, Parke,
Chase, and City Attorney Keith Atherton. Absent: Ex-Officios
Riesland and Bryant.
Minutes of the regular meeting held December 4, 1944, when
read by the clerk, were approved as read.
REMOVAL OF TREES: Upon second request of Mrs.Frank Beare
for the removal of olive trees from in front of her property at 343
Church Avenue, motion was made by Member Parke: ,,, seconded by Member
Johnson, and carried, that the above request be granted, provided
Mrs.Beare replace same with trees suitable to the Commission.
Mrs.Oda Buffington, property owner adjacent to ramsBeare.'was granted
the same request, with the same provisions.
° PROTEST OF 11R.GREISER: The clerk read a letter to the
Commission from Mr. C.F.Greiser wherein he protested the action of
the building inspector in allowing the construction of a packing house
adjacent to his property on "Kfe Street between Third and Fourth
Avenues. After some discussion, the Commission suggested that Mr.
Done, Building Inspector, issue no permits contrary to the published
map showing the zoning of the City of Chula Vista, without first
bringing it to the attention of the Planning Commission. Thi
Planning Commission is now attempting to set up a Master Plan legally
zoning limits in the City of Chula Vista to take care of the situation
in the future. However, there is, unfortunately, nothing this
Commission can do at this time relative to the above protest.
ACCEPTANCE OF CHULA VISTA MEMORIAL PLAYGROUND: LOCATION.,
Upon motion by Member Griffin, seconded by Member Parke, vhich
carried, the proposed l.oaation)°and.-plans for the Chula Vista Memorial
Playground was accepted, with the request that the City Council provide
the necessary funds to proceed with the- acquisitioned property.
REMOVAL OF EUCALYPTUS TREES: Member Johnson reported, after
looking at the above trees in front of the property of Milton W.Hays,
at 319-5th Avenue, that, in his estimation the request --for their removal
should be granted, with the usual City Ordinance provisions.
PAMPHLET "CHULA VISTA PLANS TOMORROW": Upon motion by Member..,,
'. Parke, seconded by Member Chase, which carried, the typewritten copy,
to be published in printed foam, entitled "Chula Vista Plans Tomorrow",
was asked to be presented and sibmitted to the council as a report of
the Commission.
