SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
March 11, 1957
A special meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Chula Vista was held on
the above date at 9:00 A.M. in the Council Chambers at Civic Center, with the follow-
ing members present: King, Calkins, Menzel, Hesse and Stewart. Absent: Members
Crossley and Armstrong. Also Present: Associate Engineer Harshman
INDUSTRIAL ANNEXATION NO. 2
Chairman Menzel asked that the petition asking permission to circulate petitions for
annexation of land known as Industrial Lands Annexation No. 2, to Chula Vista, be
read. A map and legal description describing said property, were presented to the
Commission.
Mr. C. M. Eichenlaub representing the San Diego-Arizonca-Eastern Railway spoke, stating
that he feels the City of San Diego or the Federal Government are the only bodies
able to develop the Bay and that it would be to the best interests of Chula Vista and
other bay cities, as well as San Diego. He wishes to go on record as opposing the
annexation which includes a portion of the right-of-way of the San Diego-Arizona-Eastern,
Mr. Robert Eggers objects to the annexation, stating that he and some of his neighbors
wish to be annexed to San Diego so that they will be eligible for water from San Diego.
RESOLUTION NO. 86 - Recommending to City Council that permission be given to proponents
to circulate petitions for the annexation of Industrial Lands
Annexation No. 2.
Offered by Member Stewart, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Members King, Calkins, Menzel, Hesse and Stewart
NOES: none
ABSENT: Members Crossley and Armstrong.
Chairman Menzel adjourned the special meeting.
