The meeting was opening by Planning Commission Chairman Stewer, ,.aho
welcomed the group and requested Mr. Fulwiler to give an outline . f
the tidelands area as it now stands, and the future plans.
Mr. Fulwiler reviewed the tidelands picture fromthe adopting of
the Mohr, Adams, Plourde Report, which has been accepted as a guide
rather than a master plan, up to the employing of the firm of
Lawrence ,. Fogg, Florer and Smith for the final engineering for fill
of the 75 acres which are provided for in the recent bond issue-,.-a
The Navy, Cities of .San Diego, National City, Coronado, and the
National Steel Company, are all vitally interested in the develop-
. went of the bay A0 $40,000 has been appropriated , from federal funds
for Sweetwater River flood control and the Corps of Army Engineers
arestarting their study right away. m® Next 'April there will be a
public hearing -for all interested parties to 'find out just what
they want done. am Chula Vista must therefore have a plan ready for
this public hearing,
Mr. Harshman stayed that we have a basic plan for water and sewer
lines . in the. Fogg Report the actual installation is based on
the fill as it is placed that a new water main is needed o sewer
main would depend on the demand ®- .north of "G" Street .there are
no sewers existing. ®-- In the Fogg report- there are the necessary
lines but the -tie-in has to be worked out.
Plans as to streets and zoning were then discussed, width of major
streets and .need For additional traffic outlets to the north; it
was agreed that a master plan should be worked out showing the
- major streets, proposed sewer and water lines , leaving the picture
flexible for changes that might occur, _

It was moved by Mr. Hartin, seconded by Mr. Harmstead and
carried, that the City staff prepare a map showing total tide-
land area and any private property that is related to the
development of our wager front, showing street plan and recom-
mended uses as they comply with the tideland grant; that said
map be sent to the Harbor Commission for their study and approval. ;
thence- to the Planning Commission for. their action, and on to
the City Council.

it was moved by Mr. Sparling, seconded by .NIr. "Neakland, and
unanimously carried, that the meeting of the. Planning Commission
be adjourned to February 15, 1960, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council
Chambers, Civic Center, Chula Vista.
The -regular meeting of the Harbor Commission would fall on -
February 22nd, a legal holiday, and the meeting should normally
be held the following night, Since the City Council will be
using the Council Chambers , the date of meeting will be Monday,
February 29th, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers. 14ir. Carl
F. Reupsch, Business K.anager of San Diego Harbor Commission,
will be present to discuss lease policy and administration.
