OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
September 109 1959
A special meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Chula Vista was held on the
above date at 5:30 P.M. in the Office of the Planning Department at Civic Center, with
the following members present: Stevenson, Sparling, Weakland, Stewart, Harmstead, Adams
and Guyer. Also Present: Director of Planning Fretz, Principal Engineer Harshman and
Robert Casey, Subdivider, and his engineer
Chairman Stewart explained that the reason for the special meeting was the urgency
involved in establishing a street pattern on the eastern portion of Robinhood #5
subdivision so that planning can be completed for water service to subdivisions fronting
on Naples Street.
ROBINHOOD #5 - Tentative Map
It was moved by Member Sparling, seconded by Member Harmstead and unanimously carried
that the tentative map of Robinhood #5 be recommended to the City Council for approval,
subject to the following conditions:•
1. That 1' lots be established where required., (To be approved by the
Engineering Department.)
2, That all streets have a 15 foot setback with .the usual understanding
that where straight-in driveways are used, a 20 foot setback will be
adherred to..
3. That such drainage provisions as required shall be provided. (To be
approved by the Engineering repartment.)
4. That the approved city standards in reference to control of cut and fill
slopes be adherred to.
5. That the suggested redesign of the northwest area of the subdivision be
carried out if at all feasible.;
6. That no final map shall be filed on lots within the indicated freeway
right-of-way, for a reasonable period of timep (Robert Casey indicated
that in developing the water main, he will need to grade this area, but
that they will develop this section last.)
7. That approval of the tentative map isin no way implying approval of the
proposed zoning.
8.. That street widths be as follows:
a. Telegraph Canyon Road, north of East "L" Street be 48 feet
from curb to curb with a frontage road to be developed by
the city, on the south side,
b. East "L" Street be 64 feet from curb to curb, from Melrose
- 1 .
to Nacion.
c. Telegraph Canyon Road, east of Nacion, be 48 feet from
curb to curb with a frontage road to be developed by
the city, on the south side.
d. All other streets as shown on tentative map, with the
understanding that no travel way will be less than
36 feet.
9. ' That the five- acre parcel lying within the subdivision be a
part of the subdivision, the subdivider to submit payment for
the additional fee covering these lots#
