HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-11-27 PC MINS MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA November 27, 1959 A special meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Chula Vista was held on the above date at 4:1.5 P.M. in the Office of the Planning Director at Civic Center, with the following members present: Weakland, Adams, Stevenson, Guyer, Sparling, and Harmstead. Absent: Chairman Stewart. Also present: City Attorney Kugler. Vice-Chairman Sparling presided in Chairman Stewart' s absencdy APPROVAL OF CHURCH SITE - Church of the Nazarene - "L" Street, West of Third Avenue A plot plan of the proposed church was submitted., The Commission discussed the design of the off-street parking, noting that the plans provide for a curb cut which would allow cars to back from their parking space, across the sidewalk, into the street. City Attorney Kugler stated that existing ordinances will limit the width of the curb curs eliminating this situation and also require construction of public improvements along "L" Street in front of the property. It was moved by Member Stevenson and seconded by Member Guyer that the Planning Com- mission approve the location of the Church of the Nazarene on the south side of "L", west of Third Avenue, based on the following findings: 1. Theproposed use is co-rrDatible with the other uses in the area and will not create hardship for adjacent uses. 2. The proposed plans provide adequate off-street parking. The motion carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Members:: Stevenson, Guyer, Sparling, Harmstead, Weakland and Adams NOES: none ABSENT: Member Stewart ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned sine-die.
