HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2002-448RESOLUTION NO. 2002-448 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING A DONATION OF THREE LONG-BED UTILITY ELECTRIC GLOBAL ELECTRIC MOTORS (GEM) VEHICLES FROM TH~ NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOR THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Recreation Department submitted a proposal in August 2002 to the U. S. Depathnent of the Interior - National Park Service (NPS) to receive a donation of three electric utility vehicles from Global Electric Motors (GEM), a subsidiary of Daimler Chrysler; and WHEREAS, the Recreation Department recently received notification that NPS has approved the donation of three white long-bed utility electric GEM vehicles; and WHEREAS, one of the electric vehicles will be located at Heritage Park and will be used by both Recreation and Parks staff, and the other two will ultimately be located at Loma Verde and Parkway Complexes for staff to use to commute from the centers to City Hall and the Recreation Department's main office. vehicles from the National Pa/~k Service ?/ Buck Martin NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby accept the donation of three long-bed utility electric Global Electric Motors (GEM) for the Recreation Depm tment.
