John Wines , Gustavo Bidart Steve Zasueta Armida Martin Del Campo 1) APPROVAL OF MINUTES — January 28, 2004 — 2) UPDATE ON THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING WORKING GROUP — A status report of the discussions of the Affordable Housing Working Group. In January 2004, staff invited a group of individuals including members of the HAC, to participate in an "Affordable Housing Working Group' (AHWG). The purpose of the current AHWG is to evaluate and provide input on the implementation of the City's affordable housing programs, particularly residential developments proposed in urbanized Chula Vista. 3) HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE OF THE GENERAL PLAN - A status report on the update of the City's Housing Element. State law requires that all cities and counties update the Housing Element of their General Plan everyfive years. Preparations for the 'next housing element update, which covers the period from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2009, is now underway. The San Diego area was 'successful in receiving a one year extension of the Housing Element due date.
