2) URBAN CORE SPECIFIC PLAN
The Community Development's Planning Division will provide a presentation on the Urban Core
Specific Plan. The plan has been created to direct development and revitalization efforts for the urban
core I rea over the next 10-20 years by guiding decisions and actions on development,, design, public
facilities, and other issues that will affect the quality of life downtown and in the surrounding
neighIborhoods. The urban core is generally the area north of L Street between Interstate 5 and Del
Mar Avenue. The plan will focus on major districts such as Broadway, Third Avenue, and H Street.
3) WAKELAND AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Staff will provide a brief presentation on this proposed 40 unit affordable rental housing project
located at 1501 Broadway (current site of the abandoned Tower Lodge Motel). The Commission will
provide comment and direction regarding the issuance of a pre-development loan to Wakeland Housing
and Development Corporation.

Opportunity for members of the public to speak to the Housing Advisory:Commission on
any subject matter within the Commission's jurisdiction but not an item on today's
agenda. Each speaker's presentation may not exceed three minutes.
