Public Services Building CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL PRESENT: Chairman Casillas, King, Dennison ABSENT de Jesus Chantengco, Helton STAFF: Housing Coordinator Arroyo, Administrative Office Assistant II Gonzalez EX-OFFICIO: Mitch Thompson (absent) 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - MSC (Ring/Dennison) (3-0-2 de Jesus Chantengco, Helton absent) to approve December 7, 1993 minutes. 2. HOUSiING ADVISORY COMMISSION - STATUS REPORT Mr. Arroyo announced that the Housing Advisory Committee has been approved as an official Commission by City Council. The Commission is now part of the City charter with the recommendation to transfer the committee membership into the Commission. The two vacancies are to remain vacant until two tenants of the Housing Authority are selected or appointed. The Housing Authority is also official. Member Casillas asked what was the status on the 200 certificates from the County? Mr. Arroyo stated that it was discussed with Council and the request has been made to the County. Councilman Fox indicated that he will be negotiating with the County, to access as many certificates as the City can get. 3. LOWER SWEETWATER VALLEY AREA TOWN MEETING - STATUS Mr. Arroyo indicated that the purpose of the Town meeting will be to bring to the attention of the residents and owners of properties, a number of land use proposals lin their vicinity; the residents will be given the opportunity to voice their opinions and/or input regarding these proposals. Staff will bring a status report to Council on what took place at the meeting. If it is a positive rlesponse, Council will conduct a special study area of the entire designated area. The proposals vary, a Water Desalination facility interested in the eastern part of the Mross property, a Veterans Home facility, a Family Recreation/Fun Center Sports complex that is interested mainly in the central part of the acreage, and the last proposal is a Senior Housing multi-level care projejct. These proposals are in a conceptual stage, no plans have been presented Ito the City, the Planning Commission or otherwise. Per Council it was suggested that these proposals be presented to the community before taking any action.
