Notice is hereby given that the Commission on Aging and Healthy Chula Vista Advisory
Commission of the City of Chula Vista have called and will convene a Special Meeting on
Wednesday,March 14,2018 at Glenner Center—Town Square, located at 2765 Main Street,
Suite A, Chula Vista, California to consider the item(s) on this agenda.

CALL TO ORDER
ROLL CALL COMMISSION ON AGING (COA): Commissioners Allan, Carroll, Erdmann,
Escalera, Johnson,Nash and Chair Mallen
ROLL CALL HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION (HCVAC): Commissioners
Cruz, de Murguia, Martinez, Milburn, Partida-Lopez, QUiroz, Velo, Vice Chair Jimenez and Chair
Melgoza
CONSENT CALENDAR
The Board/Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one motion, without
discussion, unless a Board/Commission Member, a member of the public, or staff requests that an item be
removed for discussion. If you ivish to speak on one of these items, please fill out a "Request to Speak"fibrin
and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. Items pulled from the Consent Calendar will be discussed
immedialely.following the Consent Calendar.
1. COA APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM January 10,2018
COA RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review Attachment I and approve minutes.
2. HCVAC APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM February 8,2018
HCVAC RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review Attachment 2 and approve minutes.

3. GLENNER CENTER-TOWN SQUARE TOUR AND UPDATE
Glenner Center staff will provide a tour and overview of Town Square.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Commissions hear the presentation.
4. AGE FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES ACTION PLAN TASK FORCE STRATEGY
DEVELOPMENT
Healthy CV staff will provide an overview of the community outreach conducted for
strength, opportunity and gap analysis. The Commissions and meeting attendees will be
asked to develop strategies to address gaps.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review Attachment 3, Commissions hear the presentation and
provide feedback in this working session.
5. PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN LETTER OF SUPPORT(HCVAC)
Staff will present a draft letter of support for consideration with suggested modifications
to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan policies to address park access equity through
funding priorities and the consideration of alternative types of facilities such as trails for
jogging and walking in western Chula Vista.
HCVAC RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review Attachment 3 and provide a recommendation on
approval of the letter of support.

ADJOURNMENT to a regular meeting of the Commission on Aging on May 9, 2018 at 2:30 pin at
Norman Park Senior Center and a special meeting of the Healthy Chula Vista Advisory
Commission on April 12, 2018 at 3:30pm at the Scripps Wellbeing Center.
Materials provided to the Commission on Aging related to any open-session item on this agenda are
available for public review in the Recreation Department, Chula Vista during normal business hours.
Materials provided to the Healthy Chola Vista Advisory Commission related to any open-session item
on this agenda are available for public review in the Development Services Department, Chula Vista
during normal business hours.
