SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION February 8, 2018 Civic Center Library Conference Room C2 6:00 p.m. 365 F Street Chula Vista, Ca 91910 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL: Commissioners Bordeaux, Branch, Felix, Godinez, Gonzales, Gonzalez, Lake, Medina, Zadah, Co-Chair Culuko, Chair Martinez-Montes CONSENT CALENDAR (Items 1-2) The Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one motion, without discussion, unless a Commissioner, a member of the public, or staff requests that an item be removed for discussion. Items pulled from the Consent Calendar will be discussed immediately following the Consent Calendar. 1. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION A. Commissioner Zahad requesting an excused absence from January 25, 2018 Human Relations Commission Meeting Staff recommendation: Commission excuses the absence. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES of January 25, 2018 Staff recommendation: Commission approves the minutes. CONSIDERATION OF SETTING A DATE, TIME AND LOCATION FOR REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION Staff recommendation: Commission set the date, time, and location for regular meetings of the Commission. 4. DISCUSSION OF ITEMS FOR CREATION OF FUTURE BYLAWS Staff recommendation: Commission discuss bylaws. 5. CONSIDERATION OF POSTING HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION AGENDA IN MULITPLE LANUAGES Staff recommendation: Commission request to translate and to post the agenda in other languages. 6. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING WELCOMING STARNDARD AND CERTIFIED WELCOMING CITY Staff recommendation: Commission discuss action plan regarding to Welcoming Standards and Certified Welcoming City. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission’s jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff.
